I already have SOMA and I'm not really interested in the other BTA games, so I just bought the really, really awesome tier 1, maybe upgrade if unlock will be nice.
Tier 3... is kinda questionable wtf are they thinking. But at least that keeps the BTA low, right? :)

tier 2 for me, already have KTaNE, not interested in Soma so thats a trade/Giveaway, will play polybridge at some stage. And as much as I want to try superhot, it's not worth the extra $8, even if i did get $2 humble wallet..

In order to lock the BTA you need to spend at least 1 cent on the bundle. Afterwards, no matter when you upgrade to Tier 2, the price you'll have to pay is the BTA you locked, regardless or what the current BTA is. In your case, you'll pay exactly what BTA was when you bought tier 1.

No, spending 0.01$ is enough to lock bundle's BTA price for later upgrade.
However, there are some bundles, which can't be upgraded after initial purchase, for example:

Go to bundle page (page with your keys, which looks like humblebundle.com/downloads?key=AbCDeFg).
Click link "Like what we're doing? Click here to increase your order amount!" on top of it (above games list).
Select amount of money to add.
I suggest first to pick "Custom Amount" and set it to 0 (then click on some empty space on page to apply) to see Humblebundle's hints on how much do you need to add for BTA and upper tiers.
Btw, you have 1 week from the bundle's end date to upgrade to BTA (or upper tier).

Thanks. I did as you instructed and saw that I only had to add $4.08 to add to the dollar I paid last week to get last week's bundle price of $5.08. I also didn't know you can extend the bundle date for 1 week. I will keep that in mind for future reference.
I already have SOMA and Polybridge from tier 2, but the other 3 games in tier 2 made it worth it. I will just try to trade this 2 games I already have.

Don't take 1 week as rule though - it was 2 weeks before (1-2 years ago), so they can change that anytime without warning.

I was thinking of upgrading the Humble Book Bundle: DIY Electronics by Wiley! to a higher tier which I initially bought on March 22 but the bundle has already ended(March 28). When I followed the same instructions above, I saw that I apparently can still upgrade it to a higher tier. Can I still upgrade it and do you recommend that bundle?

If you are not going to read the books, they are usually worth nothing. If you believe that you will read the books, do the projects and stuff, then you should probably ask someone who knows about electronics, arduino etc according to Amazon reviews they are good.

Well I like humble bundle for not just games but for their practical and educational content at rockbottom prices. I am somewhat interested in electronics so this bundle might be something that might be useful even at a higher tier.
