Bump, love the themed games outlining your voyage. Hope you have a safe and wonderful experience. Congrats also on being debt free. I am at the beginning of my debt journey (3 credit cards + student loans), but luckily I have knowledge of how credit works, so my debt will be in a controlled and beneficial form ;)

Have a great time! I spent 6 months in India/Nepa once - long time back - and lived for a few years in Europe. That was all due to the joys of temping when the dollar was strong. Had a blast. I enjoyed Nepal more than India, but it was a very different world - we went on a long trek that is still a memorable life-event for me. I spent most of my Europe time in Italy, Germany, and London, but had a couple of months in Paris. Wish I were heading back!

What all places are you planning to visit in India? Do remember hustling is the key when shopping for anything. You need to be patient and persistent :-)

So my boss recently approved a 5 month leave from work. My girlfriend was able to receive a similar leave from her employer. I've been wanting to do a prolonged backpacking trip for a long time, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity. I also paid off the last of my massive debt this week. That in itself is a reason to celebrate! Lesson I learned is that credit cards are not the same as cash. :(
Countries we plan to visit so far include India (yoga teacher training for a month), Thailand, Taiwan (to visit the Global Tea Hut) and France to visit friends who own a small farm. If you've ever been to these countries or nearby regions, please share your tales of adventure!
I've put together a train for those interested in following along! Boarding Pass - Gate 22
*Edit I've received several blacklists since posting this thread, maybe because of the sgtools requirements on the train? I'm sorry if anyone is being left out. If you're having an issue getting on board, please let me know. I've already adjusted the requirements once and am willing to do so again.
I added a gift for those who couldn't get past the sg tools check.
*Edit 2 In the rush of packing and getting to the airport I haven't had time to reply to all your comments and suggestions, but rest assured I highly appreciate all the input and thanks! I'll update over the next few days (internet connection permitting) and maybe add another gift or two. ✈️
