My giveaway ended today and I was getting ready to send the key when I noticed the user's email has "steambot" in it. He's been on Steam for over two years yet has no profile picture, only one friend, and has only played 6 out of 340 of his games.
I added the person on his friends list and he said that the winner of my giveaway is his friend in real life and that he plays his games in offline mode, which is why his games don't have any play time. The games that do have time recorded are multiplayer games. When I asked him about the email thing he said " he doesn't want his primary email associated with his steam account for some reason." His response for the friends list thing was " he's not interested in the friends system for people he doesn't know." You would think he knows at least one other person in real life who uses Steam, but maybe not. I get not wanting your main email on his Steam account, but why put steambot in the one you use? Both of these people seem to have different libraries and are in mostly different groups. Also, the person on the winner's friends list was not entered in my giveaway.
This whole situation is pretty sketchy for me, so I would like to know what you guys think and what you would do.

Is this normal?

If he said it's for his friend then you can ask for a reroll. Winners can only activate the games for their own usage. It's against the ToS to enter for others.

he added the friend of the winner, not the winner himself

I was talking to the person on the winner's friends list, not the winner him(her)self. This isn't a entering for a friend situation. Thanks for replying, though!

Re-roll.
At worst, it would just be denied.

Smells to high heaven, but nothing expressly against the rules from the sounds of it. You could always send the gift then blacklist.

It does seem fishy. I'd suggest you explain the situation to support and ask for a reroll.

You can't really judge people by their e-mail address. Although I must admit it is suspicious, however, as long as he didn't break any rule (activated all his wins on his own properly linked to SG steam account), I really can't see a reason to refuse him a giveaway, unless you want to break SG rules.

No, I don't like people auto-entering with scripts or tools, they're killing community aspect of SG I'm always after, but you also can't judge person without knowing him - such assumptions might be horribly wrong
