I recently just finished Alien, Aliens and Pulp Fiction, ticking them off my list, regretting not having watched them sooner. It's about time, now that I have a lot of spare time, I started finishing off all the movies I never got round to. Wondering if you guys could help me figure out some amazing movies I need to watch.

Ones currently on my list I need to see:

(All the other Alien/Predator Movies)
Reservoir Dogs
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Apocalypse Now
Full Metal Jacket
Ocean's 11
Shawshank Redemption
Green Mile

I know you guys have no idea what I've seen or not, but hopefully you might all suggest things I need to see which I haven't thought about. Thanks guys.

if you found a movie you like, might as well go to imdb.com and check similar movies; there's a people's rate and likes that might come handy!
As for personal movie titles, I can think of this moment:
Devil's Advocate
Prometeus
12 monkeys
Taking Lives
Identity
WorldWarZ
The Thing (1982 one, not the last which is far worse!)

Anything good enough of thrillers, crime, or action, for old time sake, The Expendables, VanDamme (cyborgs and apocalyptic ones)

I'd second The Thing (1982 version). Its always been a great movie and it still holds up really well. The special effects were masterfully done and that movie is still creepy as hell.

Devil's Advocate is a good movie and Pacino clearly enjoyed playing such an over-the-top character.

Other's that I'd also second are Seven, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, V for Vendetta, Evil Dead 2, and The Mist (had to check my Blu-ray shelf to remember them).

If you're ok with foreign movies, that are some real gems out there. Oldboy and Night Watch (2006 Russian movie) are to fantastic movies. Night Watch also has the best subtitles I've ever seen. They use a lot of great effects to the subtitles so it doesn't feel like something distracting.

Yeah, forgot to mention Fight Club (fav) and The Usual Suspects is great too! Thanks
If you're on Norton's mood, there's a Hulk one (so much better than banna's), Illusionist/The Great Trick, there's a pretty awesome movie Primal Fear
If you're on a Pitt's mood, Snatch, Have you seen 7 sins by now, right?

I've been a fan of Norton for a long time. I think I've seen just about all of his work. His Hulk was easily the best, but that's not really saying that much.

The Illusionist had the misfortune of coming out at the same time as The Prestige, so it got overlooked by a lot of people, thinking it was just a knock-off movie, but its very good. I was pleasantly surprised when I watched it.

I know this might not be your cup of tea but I would strongly suggest watching grave of the fireflies, it's a film I always direct people to haven't seen much or any anime films.

I wouldn't call myself an anime fan but grave of the fireflies is one of the most moving films I have ever seen.

If you must know, I'm a heterosexual male in my early 30's...

That movie was interesting when we were kids, but its aged terribly and the only people I've heard that still enjoy it are female.

Besides, Jennifer Connelly is ruined for me after watching Requiem for a Dream years ago. Everything she's done or will do is tainted.

Well now you can say that you've met a man in his mid 30's who still loves The Labyrinth. :D

I also felt a similar way about Britney Murphy after seeing her in 8 Mile, but I reminded myself that it was just a character and seeing her in The Ramen Girl helped me in doing that.

I still consider Jennifer Connelly to be a goddess (looks wise, I don't worship her or anything) and I think it shows great ability and talent that she can play roles on such opposite ends of the spectrum.

Life of Pi. I know it was mentioned but it is an unique movie that defies genres.

After the film you can have an inner monologue of the metaphorical, physical, fantasy and story world.
