Subnautica or ARK: Survival Evolved?

Hi guys!

I just saw that ARK is currently down to 10 bucks on Steam. I considered buying it, but I also have my eye on Subnautica (The first one).

So, which one of these would provide me with more fun?

Just FYI, I am looking for something to play by myself and where I can take my time.

Subnautica 100%. It's a fully realized single-player survival experience. Ark is just Rust with dinosaurs.
