Hello all, I need some help figuring out what to do

The person who won one of my GA's (for the Community Train) thanked me for the HB gift link, without activating the key. I reminded them to activate it within 7 days (& mark as received), after which (rather than activating the key) they asked me to accept a Steam friend request & send a message to them on Steam. As a policy, I never accept Steam friend requests (unless a GA explicitly mentions a game has to be sent through Steam) -- let's just say I've gotten one too many bad experiences accepting friend requests. Anyway, I'm starting to wonder what's going on -- why has this person refused to activate the key and insisting I friend & message them on Steam? Has this happened to anyone else before?

Also, thank you to everyone who contributed to the awesome Community Train that ended on Fri!

Maybe the gift link isn't available for some reason and he's trying to contact you?

Just leave a comment in one of this user's old GA and ask them what the issue is. If you get no answer, I suggest you create a ticket.

Maybe the game is not available in his region or he has some other problems.

I would say: accept the friend request and if the talking goes in a bad direction you can still unfriend him
