If you're curious to try out some game streaming, I noticed there's a demo for Resident Evil Village available today.

https://play.cid.capcom.com

No download or account required, you can simply play the demo through your browser, although it's limited to certain countries. I played through one of the two demo levels and it worked fairly well using a fiber connection in Canada, with some annoying delay in mouse movements and minor artifacts in the video quality. It was slightly worse than my experience using my own AWS servers and Parsec, or GeForce Now for streaming, but it's worth a look if you haven't tried game streaming and want to test it out without jumping through various hoops.

work very good to me,also the game run better than on my old pc ,the same i can said about abriss, just cause4 and some others new or physic games that sadly in my old cpu\gpu pcs not work well and for them i prefer play via cloud
the only bad thing is that mouse have low sensivity for me (my mouse is cheap not gaming) i like + fast,so i press p for go options and set mouse visual to 20.
i would prefer if they assign esc to option menu instead of p

i think would be awesome if in future is possible to try\play demos of all games like this in stream before to buy,so people is not forged to find alternative or bad ways to try the game.
Also if i must say for now xbox game pass with new account at 1 euro is not bad for try games too,but would be a better deal to try them for free like this instead of pay the 1 euro (for people poor etc.) Β―_(ツ)_/Β―

BUT this make me thing also about if big publishers in future stop to release games in stores (epic, steam, xbox etc.) and release it only in their pages browsers would not be a good "deal" for customers, because in that days they can decide to NEVER do discounts.

this said also i must say i'm impressed about "clarity boost" feature in xbox cloud ms edge chromium browser

and same about the chinese app magpie for use fsr in all games (upscaling) it really help me with some games with 750ti etc,it can't fix problem about potato cpu\physic games BUT it can help in games where for example 1080p instead of 720p impact so much framerate

thankyou for this news i missed it

p.s. it's hard for who not follow news,to find the demo from website global, would be better if someone create a website where is possible to play all free games streaming demos etc.,or also if capcom make a button in every game page or a page with all their playable streaming demos etc. instead of people must do hard search\google etc for find things

Based on the UI when entering and exiting the game, I assume it's running on Stadia. My internet is awful. The game is quite blurry, my held inputs (aiming) kept flickering on and off, and it felt a bit laggy, but it's still really damn cool to be able to click on a link and just try a game immediately, rather than installing a 20gb or more install just to try out a game.

Traditional demos are still definitely valuable especially to check if you can run the game and to try it in the optimal way. Video review and gameplay are also valuable as they are easy to access and help you quickly skip through to look at different parts of a game. But this is definitely a nice way to get a quick feel for a game just to see what it's like with minimal hassle.

Even with my garbage 50 Mbps internet, it's still somewhat playable. Much better than the Xbox Gamepass streaming service. Impressive.

I'm assuming (definitely an assumption, haven't read anything to back up my guess yet) that the REVII demo is based on the white label version of the gaming service from a popular search engine company. And if that's the case, then for AT&T USA customers, there's also this one on the white label service - Batman: Arkham Knight...

https://more.att.com/play/batman/

... It's been up for a while, but it's slated to end on the 15th of this month, so won't be up much longer. I think there was one more white label title, but I'm not remembering what it was at the moment.

[edit]
The other title is Control.
And yep, REVII is running on top of Stadia tech.

It was actually quite decent both quality and gameplay wise. I used a controller and it felt responsive and the game looked fine on a big screen TV, minus some grainy looks here and there that even fit incredibly well with the game's design. The art style is great, the audio is spot-on, creating an unsettling atmosphere, but, overall, despite the interesting story, the two demos felt quite boring and unintuitive for the most part except for some cool moments at the end of each one.

Impressive, works pretty well on my average af internet speed. Fascinating to think that one day all gaming might work like this.

I couldn't get it to run in Firefox, but it worked fine in Chrome. It was my first time trying a streamed game. It worked pretty good considering it's streaming and can probably run on a potato, but it's definitely not as good as playing locally and I don't have any plans to play games that way in the near future. There was a bit of lag, but the main issue is that it gets noticeably blurry when moving the mouse to look around.

I might consider streaming games if I had to travel and wanted to game on a cheap laptop. I would need a good internet connection though. I would probably just choose to play lightweight games in that situation like classics, points and clicks, or modern 2D games, but it is nice to know that it is possible to play modern 3D games on low end hardware.

Edit: I just tried it on my old iphone 6S. It works fine, but I don't know why anyone would want to play a first person shooter on a phone without a controller. It just puts the controller buttons on the screen. You can use the joysticks to walk and aim, but it's hard to aim and shoot.

I couldn't get it to work on my old iphone 4S with ios 9 :)

It's loading for several minutes and then returns to the start screen saying the game failed to load, without any further explanation why. I don't think it's my connection, I only have 250 Mbps (fiber should be available next year), maybe it doesn't like my browser? Or their streaming site is just busy - I doubt that as well, it's pretty late at night right now. I guess I'll try again some other time.

Are you using Windows? It wouldn't work for me on Firefox, you need Chrome. Probably because it is running through Google Stadia and they want to use use their browser. Or maybe my version of Firefox is too old. I never update unless I need to. I also got it to work fine on my old iphone 6S.

No, I'm not using Windows. And yes, I was trying it with Firefox (latest version), because it really should work with Firefox, if they want to win me over for this game streaming. Anyway, Chrome is not an option, I kinda hate Google with passion and don't trust Chrome. I'll just try again some other time and maybe change the browser ID, so they think it's Chrome, which often works wonders - at least if they're deliberately locking out Firefox. If all else fails I might try it with Chromium, but it's not really that important to me.

I use Firefox for almost everything I do online and have Chrome installed pretty much just to use steamgifts. I clear my history, cookies and everything else every time I close Firefox, but I try to check this site at least every hour, so I like to have another browser so I can leave it signed into steamgifts. I also like to have a 2nd browser just to trouble shoot if there is a problem with a site.

I don't care about streaming games, but just wanted to try it to see how it worked. I was actually surprised how well it works. It obviously didn't work in Firefox, but once I tried Chrome or Safari, it loads quick and is pretty straight forward and simple. There's a bit of lag, but much less than I thought there would be and it doesn't look bad other than the really annoying blurring when I move the mouse to look around. I'm guessing that is caused by running at a low framerate. I only played for a few minutes, so there may be more issues than I noticed, but that was long enough for me since I have no plans of streaming games anytime soon.

Edit: 250 Mb/s is a lot more than you need. It will probably run fine on 25 Mb/s. They recommend a minimum of 10 Mb/s and a minimum of 35 for 4K. The input lag you notice is going to be based on your latency to their server which will be different for everyone based on where you live. I'm not sure if there is a way to test latency to Google Stadia since they probably have a lot of different distribution spots or whatever that would be called. Google has a Stadia speed test, but it doesn't show latency.

You should try the Firefox profile manager, no need for another browser for Steamgifts. I have about a dozen different profiles, one exclusively for SG/Steam, some for VPN (my VPN provider offers a plugin to run a single browser instance through their VPN) and so on. I just start Firefox through the manager and pick a profile. And you can run different profiles simultaneously, which is really handy. I only rarely use Chromium for a few sites/tasks that specifically require Chrome extensions. Even though Chromium does a lot less spying than Chrome, I still wouldn't trust it with anything that requires personal data, like shopping, online banking etc. It's really hard to get rid of all that Google spyware, even in Firefox it takes a few tweaks to disable stuff like "safe browsing" (which isn't about safety at all, but rather snoops through your downloads).

I never heard of the Firefox profile manager, but it sounds interesting. I have always used Firefox because I found it to be a much better browser. Chrome always seemed locked down like an Apple product where they decide how things will work while Firefox was more open and customizable with a lot more advanced settings. Unfortunately Firefox keeps removing advanced features and the ability to customize things with every update, so I try to not update unless sites stop working.

I installed the latest version of Firefox when I switched to Windows 7 which was version 45 in Jan 2017 and then I updated to version 84.0 in 2020 because a lot of sites were breaking and that is what I am still on now. So much for security updates :)

I just updated Chrome back in March because something stopped working, but I don't remember what it was, so I am fairly up to date on Chrome. It's a pain to stop Chrome from auto updating, but it is possible.

The profile manager has been part of Firefox for years, but for some reason they never advertised that feature much. You can access the manager by adding a "-P" flag to the start command (on Windows: Win+R, "firefox.exe -P", or add -P to the command line of the launch icon). It's also very handy when you want to check if one of your add-ons is interfering with some website, because you can either start the profile without add-ons or just create a new one, which you can delete again later on.

Fortunately I never had any issues with Firefox updates. It just keeps getting updated automatically by Linux Mint. I can understand that some people don't like the new interface and some new "features", e.g. pocket, are pretty useless, but I'm still fine with the general direction. For example the cookie sandbox introduced a few versions back looks helpful. I even like the color schemes, because they help me distinguish the different profile instances.

Interesting experiment, the quality was definitely a lot worse than xCloud or GeForceNow and there was a bit of input lag, but otherwise not bad.
