As expected DE:HR won community choice so it will be pretty cheap in a few minutes. I will be making a giveaway for this game but this time I would like to give it to someone who will really play it and won't bury it in his huge backlog. Take this as an opportunity for those who don't have money/no means to buy games on Steam and would truly appreciate this game. So please, no people with hundreds of games on their account and most of them never even installed.

How I will do it? It is quite simple, just post why I should gave this game specifically to you. I will then contact via Steam those whose answers I like the most.

*note: for all those haters out there, you don't have to participate. Yes, it is cheap game but it doesn't change the fact it is really amazing game and some people can't afford even that cheap game. So please, no QQ posts :)

For reals, petition HARD for this game. It's amazing, love the Deus Ex world. Good luck to those who enter :)

Deus Ex HR has been on my wishlist for a while. I am a big fan of Deus Ex, and HR looks amazing. Unfortunately, due to several financial problems, school, moving, etc, I have been unable to acquire a copy. However, I guarantee that if I do get a copy, I will play the hell out of it.

I just bought a copy to give away myself, it is a fantastic game. I got it for $1 on OnLive awhile back. I wonder if that thing still works..

It is a sad feeling when the game you gift went into a backlog left untouched. I won Lara Croft from you back then, still haven't finished it because I'm saving it to play coop with my friend but they don't visit frequently.

I don't mind when people don't play the won games right away, hell, even I have huge backlog and it is even getting bigger and bigger. But for this game, I would appreciate if the person really plays it :)

From my experience, give away your favourite games with caution... Do you really want to know that this thing you loved is sitting unused in someone's inventory for months while they play Dota 2? :)

I'm gonna pick it up but before I do, what are the game's flaws? Some of my friends loved it while others hated it but I never got any reason. It looks like a solid game but some of my friends have put doubt in me

While it has the option for the lethal way of doing things, it encourages you to go for the non-lethal way. You also don't really have to choose the augmentations that carefully with the non-lethal approach as you will be able to get most of them. Also the boss fights.

the bosses were unfortunately very inconsistent with the rest of the gameplay; otherwise, it tied with Portal 2 as my favorite games of 2011

Boss fights, especially if you chose non-lethal gameplay were pain in the ass. Also some people were overwhelmed with the amount of information, all that computer hacking and reading e-mails/news is not for everyone but it adds to the story.

Don't forget the ending.

The boss fights would have fit in well in a shooty game, i.e. here you go, kill this guy. But quite out of place if you've spent the whole game peacefully sneaking around. If you're playing rambo style, you probably bought the wrong game.

Also, the final "choose ending A B or C" business is a bit of a joke.

So, the boss fights feel like they were outsourced to some other developer who didn't know what kind of game they were making(*), and the ending is one of those "so it didn't matter how I got here?" disappointments. But it's still one of the best games of 2011.

Even during the summer sale, most of the bad games still cost more than three dollars. This is one of the best games in the store - sell some cards and grab it!

(*) Apparently true!

re: ending -- from what I've heard (only did a full playthrough once and haven't watched others), the person who did the voice recordings for the endings did a lot of different takes, depending on how you played -- so although while (I think?) the visuals aren't much different, the monologue should be.

[edit]
looked up the other endings -- apparently there are 12 monologues, but the differences aren't very drastic.
trying to keep this post spoiler-free, so I won't say anything else.
[/edit]

[edit 2]
on that spoiler-free note... I wonder if the currently-generic topic title is keeping would-be Deus Ex-ers away from the thread?

As for me, this kind of endings is pretty good. I mean, many games today have endings based on your gameplay, but in DX:HR ending is your actual choice based on your thoughts about it's world and opinions shared with you by so many characters. It's great for those who found game's topics interesting.

Go to YouTube and watch the Angry Joe Review of the game. That should give you a good idea of the flaws and why you want to buy the game, anyway.

Its one of the best Sci-Fi shooters ever , it's got technology , stealth , action , immersive storyline. Deus Ex Human Revolution is more than just a game , its an idea that makes you see something that other games fail , i may not win but i'm telling you if i do i would play this game untill something better comes out and possibly after(i have the habit of replaying really good games and no nothing better will come out in the next at least 5 years). I have no chance of buying it because at the moment i have financial problems(i live in Romania and here life is hard , moneys are earned hard and everything is expensive) thank you for the chance

Its simple, i'd like to play it cuz i have much free time nowadays, and i dont have money i mean credit card/bank account to buy games :S and yes, i enjoy playing games, wont put it in 'backlog' (i dont have backlog anyway XD )

And well, i joined over 2k giveaways and won only 1 game (25k copies giveaway) :/

btw, thanks for this opportunity :)

I've single handedly help sell 6 copies ofDeus Ex: Human Revolution to my friends who needed convincing and all of them loved it.

I really hope this series continues.

Has anyone noticed Human Revolution is currently cheaper than Invisible War? What part of this makes sense?

If I knew I would play it, I would have bought it. I'm also giving Fallout New Vegas a miss at $2.49. These are games on my wish list, but I know I won't play them.

I would play it. I bought once on onlive for a $1. But had some problems and couldnt continue to play it. Been wanting to replace the onlive one with a steam version so i can play it again. But sadly couldnt get it from steam sale because of money issues.

For the Deus Ex series, do we need to have played the previous games before playing HR?

Deus Ex 3 is actually a prequel to the 1.

Like CyberKiller said, it's a prequel, so playing previous games in the series will increase your enjoyment of it but aren't necessary. There are a few references sprinkled in here and there.

Oooh ooh! Do not pick me! This game is actually pretty good, I have it on both 360 & Steam and find it enjoyable for more than one play-through. Happy gaming to whoever you give it to & thank you for sharing the game with others. =)

I 'tried' the game, for a little, and I kinda didn't like the begining, it was rather confusing to me so I dropped it. However, I've heard many good things about this game, how begining is kinda refusing, but the longer you play the game, the more attractive it becomes. I saw many good reviews, and everything, and I wanted to play it, but I coudn't due to low funds. I played the first Deus Ex and I loved it, but for the second one, Human Revolution, I wish I could say the same, but I would like to try it more deeply and check what it has to offer.

I played the game at my friends house and I thought it was great! I own a low-end PC and I'm not gonna lie I don't know if it's gonna work, but all I need is 10 FPS and I'm gonna play the hell out of it! I had the opportunity to download it from torrent, but I didn't want to because it's a shame to not support the developers of this masterpiece. I don't own a credit card, and I don't want to ask my parents to buy it for me, because I'm trying to be more independent, so I hope I got your attention. Every game I own has been won on different giveaways on various GA sites.

Remember watching it from Nova a really long while ago. I don't bury games, I play most of the games I own, some might be crap but oh well. I had played a bit and found it quite interesting =] That's the reason I want it.

I've seen gameplay of this game, and it is still one of my favorite games. I have never played it, but I'd really love to play this, also I can't buy, since I can't get any games from the computer store nearby.
