... unless you desperately want that TF2 item. It's five gigabytes of utter shite. It's like what you'd get if you made a Call of Duty game with a budget of fifteen dollars and panhandling, with a fucking awful UI, crappy weapon handling, godawful hit detection, one of the worst control schemes I've ever seen (press W twice to sprint? Really?) and the same mass retarded playerbase.

Cheap game. Still fun if you want something to fool around and kick ass on.

wow, you people complaining about double tap to sprint must not have been gaming for long, thats a normal thing a lot of games used to do back in early 00's and 90's

I've been playing games since I was three (1994). I've never encountered that control scheme before that I can remember. Just because something's been around for a while doesn't mean it's not stupid.

Dash moves are generally performed with a double tap in any vs. fighters, brawlers, and action third-person-view games. It's a standard since late 1990.

ArmA uses key modifiers and double taps too and it is very intuitive to use.

However, for a pseudo-realistic/arcade shooter such as CoD/AvA, the Shift key modifier should probably be set as default since you can literally map every game functions on a 12 buttons-only gamepad.

That would be why I've never seen it before. Fighting games really are not my thing. Even so, it's more natural there than in a fast-paced shooter. I can't speak for ArmA as I've never played it.

How do you know I didn't get it? I'm British. It's legally mandated to watch Monty Python.

I remember double-tap strafing buttons for dodge in Unreal Tournament.
And I'm pretty sure I've played few shooters that had double-tap W to sprint as ALTERNATIVE to pressing shift (or other button).

What do you think the first thing I did was? The awful thing was, even quitting was a chore, since the fucking thing crashed the moment I selected the button to close.

For some people downloading 5gb just isn't an option. I'm sure they would be fairly grateful for a heads up if they feel thejadefalcon gives good advice when it comes to things they might like.

I played it for a bit a while back, it was actually pretty fun but it had a lot of problems. For instance would run smooth for about 10 minutes then it would suddenly just lag like....Crazy, also there were no servers that gave me a decent ping.

Even after reading this, I downloaded and installed it since I wanted the knife and 5GB isn't an issue for me -- game took something like 10 min to download and I currently have to use 16GB/day to reach my monthly cap.

But HOLY SHIT!
First, game wouldn't launch until I allowed it to modify my Hosts file (that's the file on your computer that will direct where you connect to for various addresses, frequently used (hijacked) by virus' and malicious programs).
Then, it wouldn't connect PERIOD because of nProtect GameGuard. One of the solutions was to END PROCESS ON EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT RELATED TO THE GAME (yes, it does mention that SOME processes might be used for Windows and closing those could cause errors, but it fails to mention that MOST PROCESSES are Windows processes).
And now I have to dig through system files and the registry to remove the piece of shit that is nProtect GameGuard.

As for "press W twice to sprint? Really?"...
Played Minecraft recently? Double tapping forward to dash/run isn't unheard of.

From the first post on this thread. "I haven't played Minecraft for months now, but unless it's changed dramatically, I'd say it can get away with it on the basis that it's very rarely a fast-paced game, unless a multiplayer FPS." Also, yikes. I got lucky and it was a simply click to start. Wait... am I lucky?

True, this game is unbelievably bad.

As for that GameGuard thing, it integrates itself in the system at the level of a good antivirus program, only so in addition to detecting modified game files and external cheating programs, it can also block and report macros and the likes (considered cheating). Also makes getting rid of it take hours. I've had enough nProtect crap when trying out FlyFF, thank you.

On a far more important topic, WW for sprinting is amazing. :P

Actually, I enjoy that alot more than most commercial shooters. The controls are easy and the maps aren't obnoxiously hard to learn. Oh, and it has a decent zombie mode

Downloaded it years ago and surprisingly still have it installed (haven't played in years either).
At the time it looked quite good, was quite fun, but shots weren't registering very well... That was because it only had servers in the US, east and west. The ping wasn't that bad in the West but I found that it was also quite empty there with hardly any choice of games. The East was lagging so badly it wasn't playable...
