Is it a good thing?
Your thread is a good idea.
But I am pretty sure it will be burried far away from page 1. As long as a thread is not in the first 5-10, most people will not see it.

To be honest, people that do not see the "Help" on top, will not use search.

The ones that open the "need help" threads don't read the rules in the most cases, don't read the FAQ and don't care for something else as that they get the answer delivered on the silver plate without to invest 5 seconds of "work".
So i expect your friendly thread and nice idea will bring, sadly, nothing or nearly nothing.

Appreciate the gesture but I agree with the others.
The only thing that might help would be a pop up for the newbies before they make a discussion post.
Feeling stuck or have a question in mind? Check out the FAQs or utilise the Search bar to see if your query has already been answered!
This or a pinned 'Help' thread.

Or the FAQ that would appear automatically when they first create their account ?

Good idea in theory. In practice though, people who search, will find almost everything answered already and people who don't search, won't find this one either. So unfortunately it won't make a noticeable difference. But kudos to you for wanting to help!

Don't feel like that, it's really nice of you to try to make people's lives easier

I'dd add on top of that, that a thread that centralizes all the different infos (how to create a giveaway, how to create/solve puzzles, how to manage tables, how to set up ESGST, what's a calling out ) would be useful at least for me.
As many said, when you search something, you find it. But if everything was at the same place, that would be easier

Lately i see lot off newbees that opening threads for help or asking questions in other discussions. So i came with an idea to hold this place a little bit cleaner:
If you are new the site or it's been a while since your last login and you have questions add me on steam to ask anything. I think i learned enough to help people.
I don't know if this thread is acceptable or not but i am here to help in person. That's would be easier for you to start and faster to learn. What do you think?
Don't forget to send a message if you add through this thread. But first read this
