When i 1st saw the error i just was hoping it wasn't anything too important and its wasnt so not a huge deal but still not cool.

It would absolutely be a reason to revoke a key. If the group buy host bought with a bad credit card, it is a failed payment. That is absolutely valid to revoke keys, and while it does fuck over a large amount of people? It's unfortunate, but it is valid on the part of the publisher.

I activated mine on 11 Dec, 2015 and it isn't revoked...I have no idea where I got it from tho.
I hope there's a good explanation for what's going on here, that's really bad for biz when legitimately purchased keys are being pulled like this.

The thought this is Groupees scheming and plotting sounds preposterous to me - it would be just bad business for them.
There ought to be another, simpler explanation. Maybe they voided a whole range of keys because of some hack. If so, expect Gala to reissue keys, much like Humble did for Sunless Sea after they gave out the wrong ones.

Steam reviews only need you to have it on your activated licenses tab and some play time logged in the game. This is why one can have reviews on removed games.

I got mine from the DIG bundle in late January and it hasnt been revoked yet. That was before the publisher changed aswell:

The DIG bundle was sold in late January, the publisher change was recorded on February 9th, so theoretically the DIG bundle could be affected aswell

I just got a message from Steam saying a key that i activated has been revoked (can be seen here http://i.imgur.com/yDpjTmv.png)
The key was originally from a bundle that i brought on IndieGala the 25. December during their christmas sale on their bundles (i brought all their bundles and activated them that day http://i.imgur.com/f0dYdy1.png)
Have anyone else that have experienced this?
