Favourite Sierra city builder game of the 2D era?
I played the most with Pharaoh, so that's the favourite. Caesar III felt really similar, but on the good, familiar way, and now looking at Emperor, the graphics style is so different that it just feels welcoming :) Maybe I'll pick them up eventually, I still have a CD around but judging from it's age, it likely wouldn't work.

I never really got into city builders, but kudos to GOG, as usual.

I spent several hours playing Caesar II and Caesar III during my childhood. The latter was definitely better in many respects, but I always missed the possibility to go beyond the limits of your city that offered Caesar II, where you could attac nearby villages instead of just defending yourself with your mighty legions. As for the rest, I also tried Pharaoh, but I did not play much for some reason.

GOG had quite a few of the Sierra (style) city building games, including Caesar 3, Pharaoh + Cleopatra, and Zeus + Poseidon, but fans of those games have been begging them for years to release the last of the classic ones, Emperor—which many, including me, consider the best of the series, thanks to its redesigned farming mechanics, easier hero/god management, and the more easily separated and maintained common/noble districts.
A few days ago it was finally released: Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
And as a bonus, they completed the series with Caesar 1 and Caesar II! They may be a lot clunkier than the Caesar 3 and onwards era, but finally there is at least one digital store that has the entire series!
I wonder though if they will end up on Steam as well, like the other parts of the series.
