Welp, it's official. It's my first cakeday here on SG.
I stumbled across the site by accident last year and thought user oriented giveaways could be a pretty neat idea, so I created an account of course. I've mostly lurked rather than engaged as a whole, although, there were some exceptions such as showing gratitude or jumping into a topic I could relate with on occasion. It's been fairly chill and I enjoy seeing the discussions and events that take place here.
I think most can likely agree it's been a crazy year for various reasons. I myself lost a furry friend(profile pic) to a mix of pancreatitis and a tumor early this year. My other furry friend had a blood clot that reduced her kidney function to about 20% only a few months later. As someone that gets deeply attached to their animal friends and with the stressors of the pandemic madness mixed in, things have been a drag for me this year. Being able to participate in giving has been a sort of uplifting experience for me personally. Enough of the sob story though, right.
With that said, not all is bad. I work as a care provider and I can confidently say my clients and I are staying safe, secure, and healthy. I've got a new fluff-ball named Jack, who is a bit of a handful but quite lovable. I've also reconciled with some family who I never thought I'd connect with again too. The times really shape events in the strangest of ways.
I've also taken up writing. I've written on and off as a hobby over the years but never much more than that. It's a ton of work but I do quite enjoy the process. I've finally decided to attempt writing a novel - included in this attempt is to have it fully written, proofread, and published by 2022. What can I say? I want to be the first author in the family, even if it doesn't become a bestseller haha. I've got a few chapters pumped out so far but nothing ready to be consumed yet. It's a fantasy novel with a 'War of the Worlds' vibe but the idea is even more desolate and dreary. Hopefully next year I may have something to share with the community, more than a few games at least!
Games? Did he say games?! Yes, you read that correctly. After being subjected to my monologue I think you deserve a few GA's. It's not much but I'll be adding a small train for your time here shortly. Mostly bundled goods but perhaps something will catch your fancy. You will need to answer a horribly difficult question before gaining access though! Giveaways require contributor level 1 and end on December 6th, at 7:00pm PT. Thanks for reading and I hope you're all staying safe and well.
Hint: 1st cake is cool and all but, ___
Thanks for all the well wishes and encouragement~ I may not get a chance to respond to everyone but I am reading the replies.
Feel free to drop a bump if you're so inclined.

I, uhm... rarely read wall of texts here in sg. But I was compelled to read yours after the first few phrases. You write well. Perhaps you really should write a book. And happy cake pie day, of course.
Haha! If I'm being honest I'm not always keen to read big blocks of text either, unless it is a good book of course. I did debate if I should keep this short and just provide a few GA's. As you can see, I didn't stick with idea #1 and it turned into something a bit more... robust. Thank you for the kind words~
Happy cakeday and good luck with the novel, hope it all goes well :)
Thank you! It's all about motivation at this point. :)
Sorry for the loss. I am glad you are staying safe. Best of luck with the novel and happy cake day!
Thanks for the kind words!
Happy pie day!
I suspect SG has kept a LOT of us sane this year. There are some lovely people here :)
So true. It's a great support for those who enjoy the hobby. I also agree on the people aspect, for the most part, the folks I've seen around here have been fantastic.
Sorry to hear you've had a rough year, happy cakeday!
Thanks! Mood is a bit like a pendulum, it'll swing back to the other end(happy times!) eventually.
Happy cakeday, CountryFried. Good luck!
Thanks for the well wishes!
Country roads Fried take your pie
Happy cakepie daaaaaayyyy
I'm sorry for your lost furry friend
Take your pie Country roads Fried
Oh boi, I just got that song out of my head not too long ago. You're killing me here. :P

Pie is a food group in my humble opinion. And thank you!
I didn't quite put two and two together at first but, definitely a conclusion that could be reached. Might reword those sections, probably not, misunderstandings can be fun.
Happy cakeday ;)
Happy pie day, you can eat what you want dangit!
You speak to me at the soul level. Pie for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Sorry to hear about your furry friend, but I'm glad to hear that you have another one and were able to reconnect with family - that's great!
Good luck with writing your novel, that's awesome! I keep thinking that I want write a fantasy story - I used to write long stories all the time in high school - but I never actually tried to write one. I fear I wouldn't have the time to do so, but maybe it's just one of those things that you have to make the time for. Anyway, good luck!
Also, is the question supposed to be horribly difficult? Because I seem to be completely striking out.
Edit: Nvm, I totally missed it. I thought you were going off of what you said in your post, which through me off completely. I think this is the first time that reading the post actually made the puzzle harder to solve, lol. :)
It's definitely something you make time for rather than having time for, at least in my experience and situation. Also, glad you figured it out. I didn't think the text would distract from the reveal but definitely see how it could get lost in the soup.
Well, I thought it was asking about you wanting to be an author, and I was wracking my brain trying to figure out why it wasn't accepting any of the author-related answers I gave.
Happy cake day. My deepest condolences about your furry friend. I wish good health to you, your family, and your friends. Additionally, good luck in all your future endeavours. I think you can do this, since your writing skill seems pretty good. Thank you for the chance.
Thank you for the encouragement~
I hope you and yours stay in good health as well!
Sorry to hear about your animals. :(
That's amazing about the novel, kudos on the first steps! Wish you the best of luck, writing's hard work. Hope to get an update on your progress in the future. :D Happy cake day!
Thanks, such is the way of things at times.
I definitely plan to give the novel my best shot! I've got a decent start so far and I feel as though I'll meet most of the self-imposed deadlines I've set if things stay steady. Perhaps next year I'll have a sneak peek if everything is in a good condition.
I'm sorry for your loss, CountryFried. Good luck with the novel, and thanks for the giveaways :)
Thank you for the well wishes! Best of luck in the GA's~
Happy cake day and good luck on your fantasy novel :)
Thank you! Here's to keeping motivated~
Happy cakeday. Hope you celebrate with some real pies.
No pie tonight but, I do have plans to grab a pizza pie and an apple pie on the morrow!
very nice. I recently got to eat cherry pie with ice cream. Well it was incredibly good.
good luck with the novel! happy ca- pieday!
It's pie time!
It's always pie time. My poor waist.
Nice little train! I'm glad that things are looking up for you. Give Jack a lovable scruff for me.
Glad there's some interesting bits in there and will surely give some scruffs as directed!
Thank you! Hope you're having a great Cakeday! May you accomplish your dream of being a published author :)
Shouldn't be too hard considering all the options available these days. Self-publishing is easier than ever too.
Happy cakeday and goodluck!
aww, happy cakeday ^-^
Sorry to hear about your little furry friend ;-; I've lost a few myself. Hope you, Jack, and your other furry friend stay safe!
Happy first cakepieday <3 a couple of wishlisted games on that train, big thank you!
On a side note: It's always nice to see someone who isn't a cat-hater lol. Poor babies are just misunderstood >.<
Glad there's a few interesting bits in there for ya, best of luck. Jack loves sprawling out like that too. He doesn't need a comfy pillow though, so long as he's in eyesight of someone and gets attention for it.
