I don't have much more than 7 unplayed games left in my Steam library ( here's my BLAEO account for proof ). Does that mean I'd get kicked once I run out of games to play? Would members be allowed to pick a game from my Won't Play list? Would I have to list games I got from other places, like itch.io, just so they have something to pick from?

We haven't reached a point yet on how to proceed if someone has no games left to play, but considering your high amount of "won't play" games, the question arose, if you could have another look at that list and if maybe there really are some games you could play after all :3
Plus you could always only play the minimum amount needed, so you won't run out of games that fast.

I mean, I did play them (at least a little bit), and the vast majority of those are perma-free games, many where I just went "the game's free, so I'll give it a chance even though I probably won't like it." You can think of my Won't Play list more as "played, but won't beat" because I use Unfinished for games I want to keep playing. There's only two on there that I didn't play at all, and that was because they didn't work (ArchRobo always crashed after the title screen, and NewHrdGame always got stuck loading forever). EDIT: Oh, I also didn't play Pixel Puzzles Ultimate because that game was added to my library against my will.
This is why I asked about that specifically, because if that's the only workaround, I'll pass on joining the group.

Mhm, I'm not sure I understand. If it's your "played, but won't beat" list, then you still wouldn't feel like beating them even if ppl challenged you to them or am I wrong? Unless I missunderstood you, it doesn't really seem like an option.
The question for me would be what you want to get out of pop. If you want to join bc you want to get challenged by other members and then play the games, you're at absolutely the right place. Even if it was only for a short while, it would give you that, right? And you could always reapply at some later point once you have enough games again.
For us that's the main reason for PoP. To play. And to take ppl with us on this ride. If you don't feel like that is the right thing for you, than we wish you all the best on your gaming journey. Maybe you'll think differently at some point about being a member :3

This is not an entry request, since I don't think I qualify yet and this cycle already having started, but I am interested in joining the group in the future, so I wanted to know if there's an approximate date for which the group will open recruitment for the next cycle?

You can join mid-cycle (I joined in the middle of last cycle). 2 people will quickly pick games for you and you can hop right in. Obviously, you'll have less time, but since you want to join, you're likely to be very excited to play games, so it shouldn't be too difficult to play at least 2 of your 7 picks ... 😉

FAQ
Q: Do I have to play 7 games every cycle?
A: NO! The more the merrier, but just finishing two is enough to complete the "challenge"!
Q: Do I have to participate every cycle?
A: No. You can take a break whenever you want, just don't sign up before the next picking phase starts. However, you must participate in at least, 2 out of 4 cycles in a year.
Q: Why is BLAEO mandatory?
A: It makes picking a LOT easier. As you can see here
Q: Why do I need to have played at least 10% of my wins OR a total of 40 games played?
A: We must see that you're serious into playing your games, not just joining because of GAs.
Our group was inspired by both the old PoP events at Quips/Beardtopia.
