Still $594.40 for me. Must be regional I guess. Pretty weird.

Probably regional. Here in Portugal there's also a 40% discount on it (from 24,99€ to 14,86€).

Ended up getting several indie adventure games and VNs (just as planned):

  • Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk
  • Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk
  • Rauniot
  • The End of the Sun
  • Scarlet Hollow
  • Minds Beneath Us

Got as birthday presents:

  • Let bions be bygones
  • Tenebris: Terra Incognita
  • Tavern Talk

Also, by the end of my birthday I felt so shitty that also bought a couple of job simulators, they are quite effective at helping me relax:

  • Gas Station Simulator - Can Touch This DLC
  • Hotel Renovator
  • A Game About Digging A Hole

…And I was digging a virtual hole until 4 in the morning yesterday, yeah.

I've been enjoying Gas Station Simulator, it's just immersive enough to be fun, and yet mindless enough to be a very chill experience.

Nice selection, especially Pocket City looks good.

Heck Deck is a bit cheaper on Gamersgate with the code ITAD.

Anyone else remember when Steam Sales were actually really awesome? When you had flash sales of good games for $1-$2, and amazing reductions on loads of titles?
Now it seems like the sales are a time to not buy - there are loads of titles on sale, sure - but most of them are on sale at lower prices when it's not a Steam sale. The Steam sales have become sort of meaningless, unless you love free 'stickers'.

What I hated about flash sales is, if you weren't online when the one(s) you wanted dropped, you missed them altogether unless you were able to get a friend to grab it for you. Gotta go to work? Sucks to be you.

But I do think having different events was cool even if some of them were kinda bad. At least there was an attempt to make the sales more of a spectacle.

That said, the sales as they are now, are still very convenient for getting a chunk of wishlisted games at one time, and also seeing some games friends bought that pique your interest. Some devs do definitely take advantage of the sale to actually raise their "sales" price, but most don't. And there are a lot of historical lows every sale.

I think the more games you own, the less attractive the sales become. You won’t find tons of bargains like you did before simply because you already snagged a lot of games as bargains in the past.

How much you enjoy the big sales really depends, IMO, on the type of gamer you are. If you’re all about the newest, flashiest, ultra-popular games, you’ll probably find mostly mediocre discounts, and the sales might feel pretty underwhelming. Maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll come across a surprise deal here and there that makes you think it was worth it. But honestly, if you’re eyeing a short list of titles, chances are you’ve seen them cheaper before during some random developer sale.

On the other hand, if you don’t have that many games and you’re open to exploring beyond just the AAA and AA titles, the sales are like an incredible buffet. I know—been there, done that. These days, I’ve become more of a collector. I’ve got a massive wishlist, so even with a big library on Steam and other platforms, I still manage to find plenty of deals I like. As a gamer, I play everything—from retro to brand-new, from indie gems to mainstream hits, and across pretty much all genres. So, for me, the big sales are still fun and exciting—like wandering into a giant mall and indulging in some good old consumerism.

404 - games not found. ;)

Nice choices, FARSU looks good.

Thanks :), for FARSU pretty curious, since fan of Wipeout (300+ hours on his indie version - Ballistic NG), so wanted to try, and will ask for a refund if the game is not good ...
Curious about what games you have the 404 error (the link are good, so must be region lock).

I hope, FARSU is also good in SP, because I only play SP, but like these kind of racing games.

Oh, the 404 was a joke regarding the momey you spent. Error 404 is an error, where a file can't be found. :)

But Slowdrive isn't available here in germany because it has no rating.

I´ve seen better offers in the not so long past (Skyrim, AC Odyssey Gold, etc) but I´m really doubtful about Red dead Redemption 2. I don´t have the time to play it, but I think it will not hit that price again.

If you don't care about Steam: The Ultimate Edition is cheaper on Green Man Gaming, but it's either for the Rockstar Launcher or Epic.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not either or as Rockstar Launcher is always an (unwanted) necessity independent from the platform you bought the game for. PS: happy C-Day

Thanks a lot! :)

Yes, I know, but if you buy it on Steam, you should see it in the list and in the launcher - if you buy it directly for the launcher, you only see it there.

Well, the last moments of the sale. I had low expectations but it was actually not so bad regarding deep discounts and historic lows. I got a few games, nothing too fancy.

-Don't Touch The Zombies
-It's Kooky
-Block Tower TD
-Mystery of Mortlake Mansion
-SCP Operations
-Risen Kingdom
-112 Operator - The Last Duty
-SCP Strategy
-Sniper Ghost Warrior 2: Siberian Strike
-Phantom Doctrine
-DOOM
-Enter the Gungeon (gift)
-Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
-Spiritfarer®: Farewell Edition
-Heavy Rain
-Conan Exiles - Standard Edition
-100 Asian Cats - Extra Content
-Moth Lake
-Ghost In The Mirror
-Forgotten Anne

Now waiting for the summer. ;)

While I wasn't feeling pulled by any of the games in my wishlist, I still bought two cheap ones... just because. I guess I didn't want my backlog to starve. ¯\(ツ)
A Street Cat's Tale
The Lost Oregon City Gold

It's important to keep your backlog fed, like sourdough, or it grows bitter and dies!
You did good.
Plus you can't go wrong with a kitty.

Absolutely. But to be honest, I find it really hard to not add new games. O_o I keep telling myself that as long as I don't hit the 1000 mark, I can't reeeeally be considered a hoarder. Right? Right!?

Hoarder is just a bad name jealous people invented to make us feel bad about having choice in our lives... I mean it has to be.
Plus 1000 is only a number. I'm totally over it. Next stop 1500.

And you played 100% of your wins so it's not like you're just letting all your games rot.
Also cats were involved. There was nothing you could do.
