So my brother's pretty old PC died some time ago and a month ago I bought a second x360 controller for him so we could play some Fifa on my pc.
The game is fun, but only being able to play that together makes it kind of boring.
Does anyone know some fun games that we can play on 1 PC? Be it hot seat/turn based/splitscreen/... :)

All suggestions are welcome, tried L4D2 and Borderlands 2 already with some workarounds but didnt work out all that well for some reason :( Civilization 5 is fun but it's hateful to do a turn, then pass on the turn to the next person and not looking at the screen.. Any idea if there's a way to play it on 2 monitors or something?

Also, have a random giveaway :)

Yeah, I hear you can have a 4 player split screen in that one, and you can even take it to online matches like that.

Try this.

1) Download vmWare Player (it's free)

2) install W7 and allocate to it nearly half the resources of your pc

3) Launch it and lock the second gamepad inside the virtual machine

4) Move vmware player to the second screen and select full screen

5) install every freaking game who support multiplayer-coop (Gear Of War for example is really fun) (online or lan) both inside the virtual machine AND on your usual system

6) Play together as much as you want :)

PS

With this method you HAVE to try Doom 3 coop Mod! It's incredibly funny.

Yes, I had fun with RE6 with my brother. Local co-op was the best part about it.

If you like pinball, then Pinball FX2 has a hot seat mode. There is one free table and each other table has a small preview so you can try before you buy.

Red Faction Guerrilla has hot seat mode for destruction, it can be quite fun.

Red Faction Armaggeddon has co-op in waves of aliens, not as fun as blowing up buildings xD

Don't think you would want to render Civ5 twice.

Renegade Ops. By far one of my favorite twin stick shooter arcade games. Has a great dynamic split-screen as well, haven't seen anything like that on PC. But you can also switch is to regular (static) split-screen. Amazing fun, and great mechanics. Oh and Mortal Kombat 9 recently got ported to PC so that's a bunch of fun to play locally as well. I keep remembering games lol. Here's another one: Blur (if you can find a retail copy of it - if you do it's probably dirt cheap anyways, got one for 5$). So much fun and of course, it has split-screen. In fact, it supports up to four players in split-screen. If you have the controllers and a large enough monitor. Anyways, have fun !
