There's a guide for both sides of the story - things that the other person should tell you to progress.
Played with a friend, and we both agreed on that whitl the "describe things and puzzle together what you need to do/press" aspect makes it it pretty unique and imo fun, the game itself is a lot weaker (and pretty much shorter) than for example Rusty Lake Roots.
