This is a real gem! Unique storyline and gameplay. Seriously, how many games let you play as a native american who wants to run from who he is but ends up a warrior nonetheless? (I really should have put this on the comments section...)

Can I kindly ask the winner to comment here when he successfully activates the game on steam? There is some due paranoia after some users read about accounts being stolen after retail keys were gifted by some people (I don't think they were from our site though).

My suggestion is, make a new account for retail CD-key activation of gifts... this way even if you happen to come across a "bad apple" (i.e. someone who created a giveaway to gain access to your account) in the future, you will not loose your actual steam account and if recovery of this alternate account fails, your loss is minimized.

Care to explain how this "stealing" would be done?

Not saying it can't be, but - theoretically - a retail key is just like a steam activation code... it 'marks' your account as owner of said game, and based on that you can download and play from Steam's servers. Unless your system is compromised in some other way (keyloggers or similar), you should be fine.

Perhaps you mean the accounts were locked after redeeming the gift? That can happen (at least it's on the ToS) if the copy is, for instance, stolen or exploited. I think Steam would only lock that game out though, not the entire account.

The worry is that even if say:

You win a CD Key, and activate it on Steam, the person who bought that game and gave it away may be able to send Steam a picture of the CD key and "recover" {or steal} your account. They can show proof that they bought that game and they are the original owner of it, and since it's tied to the other persons account, could be trouble.

^this. I am not worried about my account as the giver. Some of the people considering entering the giveaway are worried that the gift giver may be of bad intentions and thus use what skzorak said to take away the gift receiver's account. There has been a lot of forum discussions on this and the issue of cancelling retail cd-key giveaways is being discussed right now.

You do not have permission to comment on giveaways.
