Your art shows promise, all I can tell you is that it doesn't matter how much talent you have - it's work, sweat, practice, and then more work. Keep going on!
Well some do look weird (olders I guess), others look good. Personally I'd give a lot to be able to draw one tenth as good as you do. Some of the animals are very well done. It's good you have variety.
(My gf gifted me in xmas a book to learn to draw but honestly I have little hopes...)

Hm, if you have the time, can you give me one example what a "weird" piece looks like? I'm aware that some of my art has bad errors in it but I'd be keen to know what to improve on.

It's all subjective, and it's common to put that "side smile" completely to one side of the face, but sometimes it makes things look too weird. In some of your cases it makes the face look so non-symmetrical that it looks weird, to me at least. Two first links shows the two most prominent cases where that looks too weird. I see you make this with a lot of faces and in many it works, in others not so much, and as I said in others it's... Weird.
The third link is just... I don't understand the body proportions. Whole weird.
I have been exposed to a lot of fan art, amateur drawings and weird stuff, some interesting, some gorgeous, some really bad. Yours is good, way above average - and with promising I didn't mean "it's barely decent but if you work a lot you can make it good". No, I mean "it's good, pleasant and nice, and with work it could get to be gorgeous". So as I said earlier, keep working!

The third one indeed has some odd proportions lol, I see the thigh and back being the biggest offenders.
