Yes, the game has been shelved. However, it is still a pretty decent Minecraft clone to play around in and build the island of your dreams. I still have a lot of fun with it to this day without any future updates planned. If you're looking for a voxel building game to run around in and explore (future updates excluded) this is the game for you! It's fun, it's zen like, it's actually a really fun game! And since it's no longer being sold, actually quite rare ;) If you win I hope you enjoy!

That's unfair phrasing.
According to the developers, they ran out of funds to support the project.
They were posting updates for a while that they were attempting to resecure funding, but they never managed to get that to come through, and had to officially cancel the project.
They didn't completely give up on the potential of eventually finishing it, however

Well, given the solid response of the devs [as detailed in the linked post], and without reason to suspect deliberate misconduct, it's just unfortunate to hear their circumstances dismissed or them put in with inept or immoral EA developers.
Especially as, from what I've heard, the game is quite playable as-is, and thus not in line with the usual abandoned EA games. :)

When the devs were unable to continue and the game was pulled from Steam, anyone that had bought a copy already got 5 giftable copies. I gave two to my friends. Then found out about this site. Figured I'd help out people that can't get it anymore but still want to try it! :D

Every time I run into a potential trade for this, it seems waay too huge for what they want... for just this game, and I don't even know how much there is to it. I've always been afraid to do any tradings also, since the gift copies were free, from what I recall, for anyone who invested in it originally. Just doesn't feel right.... It's too bad I cannot try this out a bit, but it continues to stay in my wishlist for a hopeful opportunity (how I ran into this giveaway - filtering wishlisted stuff). ^^ The way I phrased all that... it it hard for me to understand.
Very nice of you to give them away though, since a lot of people want a ton for these! They are just aging and getting more and more difficult with less and less supply as more get activated, so definitely extremely valuable!
