Explorer Edition is the base version of the game (and has been since the game's launch), while Enhanced Edition refers to a free update affecting all versions of the game. If you load the store page itself, you'll notice the base game is still listed as Explorer Edition; Meanwhile, the Enhanced Edition label was a change to the title of the overall store page, which is what SG pulls titles from.

In other words, this means you did actually select the giveaway listing associated with the Explorer Edition (and therefore have the correct listing selected), it's just mislabeled due to the weird quirks of the Steam API and the way information is sent out from it.
