Direction of the video game industry... hmm... more indies, same AAA, fewer mid-budget games, new console cycle brings in more hype, but takes time to settle in, and Steam keys for free games come in happy meals (McDonald's grows even larger, everyone gets fatter).

Cheers! As for the video game industry I hope they stop pushing motion controller gaming. The games that they support either suck or are more fun with a regular controller.

Consoles either die or merge with PC.

no idea x-x i just hope wish the price for cod games decayed like other games :/ instead of being 40-60 for like 4-5 yrs

Hopefully the video game industry is improving with the introduction of kickstarter and niche games finding their way to creation.

I hope that with the next gen consoles a lot more new games will be released. 2012 had games like Dishonored and X-Com (what is also kind of a spiritual successor) but there seemd to be a lot more games with a 2, 3... in the titel.
Indie games will definetally become even more important with projects like greenlight and all that bundles coming more frequently.
I also look forward to see the first results of games i backed on kickstarter. Starting with Broken Sword - the Serpent's Curse. I think at the end of 2013 we will know pretty good how well gamedevelopment works together with kickstarter and Co.
Has anyone of you played a game already that he/she backed?
