The region restrictions for this is utterly stupid "works for this preset region except for one of the list." actually doesn't work for half the listed regions

(yeah, I had a similar issue when doing a Fanatical giveaway before. Turns out the preset didn't fully correspond to the actual region locks of the key)
It doesn't help that sometimes, they're wrong. I did a giveaway of Maui Mallard during last year's community train and it had region restrictions I didn't knew about according to Fanatical.
The winner was from one of the forbidden regions... and it turns out he did manage to activate the key.

It's even worse these last few months, now half the games are like "tier 1 countries but not these 60 different countries". And my heavily autistic brain just is incapable of understanding what that means. Can't even do a regional preset because there's always a few in there that are supposedly incompatible. So have to still manually go through and cross reference the lists

Yeah, they unfortunately have to do this now, because each site has theoretically its own region locks. The "easiest" thing to do is to check the key restrictions on SteamDB, since it's supposed to be only one type of key delivered everywhere.
