Unfortunately, attempted activation of the supplied key results in the error:

The product code you've entered has already been activated by a different Steam account. This code cannot be used again. Please contact the retailer or online seller where the code was purchased for assistance.

Please let me know if you have a solution.

I don't know really, I had 3 keys total, one was activated by me, and I gave away other two. Unless 1/3 was already activated when I got them, I don't know why. I'll change to another key, but I can't guarantee it works since I may have used that one for my acc
One was from vLoot, one from giveaway.su and last from indiegala, so perhaps that one was used, since there's many dupes on IG.

No joy with that one either, I'm afraid. No biggie.

Would you like a random game key instead? I have some spare, but I don't know what game they're for.

That's not necessary, thanks. It's highly likely I already have any given random game on Steam!

Ou okay then. Shall I delete the giveaway then, since I was unable to give you the key?

The normal procedure is for me just to mark it as not received after 7 days.

Well yeah, I know, but I want to avoid getting Not Received rating because I couldn't have affected if key was or wasn't valid, I was just giving it away since it was spare.
But anyway, that is how the website works, so mark it when you can. Thank you for your patience even if I couldn't provide you with the key.

There's no real harm in a Not Received; stuff happens and people recognise that.

You can avoid them (as I have with a couple of thousand giveaways) with a little diligence (e.g. using trustworthy key suppliers with support staff who will address problems with keys, and of course keeping proper track of your keys).

Before I started making giveaways, I had hundreds of spare keys which I hadn't kept proper track of, and gave them away in gaming chat rooms, etc. Then I joined this site and gave them away on the Orphaned Keys discussion thread. Once I got to the point where I was confident in the provenance of my remaining keys (and only then), I started doing actual giveaways. As I'm not very good at keeping track of things myself, I simplify things by immediately redeeming all Steam keys that I want, and creating giveaways for those I don't (absolutely no need for any text file or spreadsheet to track unused keys!). I create almost exclusively very short giveaways, firstly because I'm a little impatient myself, and I know other people might be too, but also because if there's a key issue I will generally find out quickly enough so that I either ask the supplier's support to rectify the issue, or obtain another key while it's still cheaply available (though never actually had to do that... yet!). I have no doubt that one day I won't be able to resolve a key issue with one of my giveaways, and the cost of fixing it myself (having to buy a full price key) won't be worthwhile, or the keys may just not be available any more. But so far so good...

Finally, whilst I don't expect any leniency from people I may disappoint even though I do try to be diligent, I do make exceptions myself for gifters who clearly have a history of being diligent and have a problem which they can't realistically fix (these people will typically have hundreds or thousands of giveaways behind them and an unblemished record, and will have shown at least an effort to resolve issues). However, in general I think it's best for the SteamGifts system to accurately reflect a member's record.

I wish you all the best with your future giveaways, and hope that this reflection on my experience here was somewhat useful.

I see what you mean, thank you for your time explaining everything, it was helpful indeed.
Hope you have a good one, take care.

One more thing...

If at any time in the future you end up with a valid key for this game and I'm still a member here (and you can somehow remember about all of this...), then I will gladly mark it as received if you supply it. I don't think there's any time limit on this. I'm not sure if SteamGifts would automatically flag you adding a new key to me, but replying to this comment would ensure I see it and do the right thing.

This may matter if in the future you establish a strong gifting record and only have the odd annoying red blemish which you wish to clear. Otherwise, don't worry about it!
