Yeah, that makes sense, but really I just had an extra key for no reason, so why not use it here? :) And I dunno about the game either, haven't bought one for myself yet... :(
If I'd made a public giveaway for this I'd just feel bad when the winner inevitably never installs it - but with these puzzle things the winner will probably feel bad doing that... :)

Yeah, it's hard to call this a puzzle really... I mean, assuming you've ever tried a puzzle on steamgifts harder than "check out the cool picture on this jigsaw puzzle" ... :) But I'm pretty lazy...

That one took me so long, I had only tried ASCII with groups of 2 numbers then tried a lot of other things, I only thought now of trying to group the numbers differently.
Not sure yet about entering for Miskatonic, I saw it the other day and wishlisted it, but as in a "looks interesting will check later" wishlist, but thanks for at least this one

Interesting, I'm more reluctant about this one myself... :) Which explains the giveaway - I could have kept the key for myself, but had second thoughts... :)
I think people have mentioned Monster Hunter is kinda mmo-grindy? Whereas a visual novel without choices is the exact opposite of that... :) So most likely I'd play this for a while and forget about it, but actually finish the other game... :)

I don't keep up with puzzle things, but there used to be countless better puzzle makers around... Probably at least some of those people are still making them... :) Plus all the new people I don't even know about... :)
I'm curious why so many people seem to be stuck on this puzzle... It doesn't seem complicated, assuming you look at the keys. Of course if you don't look at the keys you're screwed, but I did say "And the obligatory puzzle pieces disguised as a bundle leftover key dump" so people have no excuse... :)

The Caesar one almost eluded me, since I really didn't know what to do with all those chars and I was overthinking, knowing you can be devilish!

I suppose having the middle part as ASCII codes makes it more difficult to notice than "HOW MANY AGES HENCE" - but the main difficulty seems to be simply looking at the Steam keys in the first place. :)
Until someone has that idea, the whole thing's impossible... Hence the over 4000 guesses on the first part of the puzzle, I suppose. I'd love to know what those people are typing... :)
Fortunately the comments have slowed down a lot, so I won't spend the entire weekend replying... :)

I don't know, surely the ASCII thingie required some more effort on our behalf, but the whole "acrostic" mechanism was quite natural to me to solve, since it's one of the first things I usually check when facing a puzzle.

Yeah, I'm confused... What are they guessing? I mean, what exactly are they typing into that box? And where are they getting it from?
It's very hard for me to understand... If you're stuck on a puzzle 30 other people have solved, but you don't even know what the question is, would you just start typing random nonsense and hope you get lucky? How does that make any sense? :)
Or would you think hmm, I've missed something, I better go back and read that puzzle again. View the source, look for something hidden in a picture, boldface, italics, first character of each line, just something... :)

Finally here. I thought of the correct conversion, but when I noticed that there would be too many chars for the code itself and to few for a full url or another task description I dropped the idea and focused on different solutions.
I don't even count how many ciphers did I try. Xlate, cryptii, dcode, geocaching... None of them contained anything useful.
Probably the most sophisticated was converting the sum to binary based on the "more or less part" and decoding it with bacon cipher. Only the "11" seems to be out of place for that solution ;)
In the end it turned out to be a matter of spaces and a basic conversion

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if not quite everyone trying to win this game would be able to run it, but that's how steamgifts works really... :) Some people only try for wishlist games, and some people will enter anything for the +1 and the trading cards... :)
