I've been using this as the background for my new tab page. It's quite seasonal, now that The Rain has started here in Vancouver.

You're having a gif as the new tab background page? With Chrome? I wasn't even aware that this was possible.
Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your new tab page?

Ah, I use an app called Tab for a Cause! It essentially raises a little money for charity with its ads whenever you open a new tab. You can choose your background: the default nature photos, a photo that changes daily, any image on the internet (which includes gifs), or just a plain old colour if you're boring.
Obviously the ads somewhat detract from the page's appearance. But it has all sorts of lovely optional organizational tools, like bookmarks, sticky notes and a to-do list. Plus it loads the image first, so you get a good look at whatever pretty background you've selected before it gets obscured. And, you know, raising money for charity feels nice.
You can see my own page below, with and without the bookmarks left open. :)

Interesting...
Japanese(?) advertisements? In Canada?
I'm using SpeedDails on my new tab page. That way I always have my most used pages on hand in a manner that I'm used to.

Speed Dial sounds convenient!
Ah, the ad is for Bokksu, which delivers a bunch of themed Japanese snacks to you monthly. It's for people outside of the actual country. That said, sometimes my ads do get confused by the pages I'm visiting or my language settings, so I'll end up with Mandarin, French or Japanese for a day or two, which is fun.

It is, indeed.
Ah, I see. A monthly Snackbox with foreign food. We can get these over here in Germany as well. I'm intrigued by so far have never tried one.
On top of French and English you're also speaking Mandarin, Japanese? Wow. I wanted to learn Mandarin as a teenagar (though there were no sources back then like the Internet) and I'm interested in Japanese in recent years, but knowing both is an incredible achievement in my opinion!
