I'd prefer to date someone whom I met online since that would be a person I already know and chose to meet live. Blind date are based on luck, and luck sometimes can be a b**ch :s

I think my wife wouldn't be too happy if I went on either of those two, but I guess if I was single, I'd prefer someone I already met online, for the same reasons as the person above me

Well, in a certain sense dating someone you met is like dating someone from a blind date. Until the point of meeting each other, you'll never know the truth. That being said, and trying to be more positive here, at least with someone from online, you can get a good idea about their personalities, so if I had to choose, I'd go for online.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -- John F. Kennedy
"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." -- William Arthur Ward

Gratitude is important, so thank you for creating this opportunity cheekiyaya!

I'd much rather date someone that I'd met online. Much like most others are saying, a blind date is completely up to chance or how well the person who set you up with it knows you. You don't necessarily know the real person that you met online, because the thing about the Internet is that you can be anyone you want. I feel like that also works in your favor, though, because if you like someone for who they want to be, then deep down inside, you like the person, even if the outside doesn't match.

If the person is genuine, I think the inner heart is more important than the exterior look :)

I'd like to date someone I met online, but since people can be pretty different in person compared to online, I see them both as kind of the same. At least I have an idea of what the person is like with someone I've met online, which would help me prepare for a possible meet up.

Yeah, they are kinda the same...but at least you get to "know" them a bit earlier I guess, as compared to a blind date! ;D

My wife and I quasi met online :D. We were both visiting the same rock disco an she saw me dancing. As I have some very smooth moves (especially to Little Lion Man which was playing at the time), she just couldn't help herself and asked someone we both knew what my name was. One day later she contacted me on schuelervz.de and now – almost 8 years later – we are married :).

As for the question, hm. If I had to choose and had to date at all, it'd probably be someone met online. Blind dating via matchmaker "might" be safer, but I've almost zero expectations of getting a good match out of it.

LOL! 不客气 ^^

Can't expect much from a blind date I guess. I mean, I would think to myself - the other party going for a blind date, probably has issues - that is why he/she has to get a matchmaker! (well, that would imply that I have problems too! xD)

Math is only about your mind. If you have any idea what you are trying to get as results, then you can figure it out sometimes more easily then it looks like.

Haha, no problem. :)) Math was my favourite class during school years. Mostly I didn't need formulas and I was able to figure them out myself, but yeah, with formulas it it easy most of the time.

Formulas from shcool are easy, I was talking about Further Mathematics in university (Integrals, limits and stuff)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Limits, derivates, integrals. :) I know them well I would say. I had it at high school and later in university too. But still most of them are easy to figure if you know what you are counting. During high school I learned how to cheat derivates and I was able to get result with only my mind in few secs, only problem was if teacher wanted to show how I get my results.
But I don't know them as good anymore as I don't need them anywhere in my life.

How did it prevent using program/site? You don't really need any language to use those. Except math of course

Online for sure. Half of my current live friends are from online world. It just take some time to meet them all.
But sure there were some good points in unfriending later if it goes in wrong way.

Don't take it too seriously, but for example dating you would be fun I suppose. 😜

I would much prefer to date someone I already knew, even if that person was just someone I met online. Blind dates would make me feel incredibly nervous beforehand and even more so in the actual data since we wouldn't know how far we could push boundaries.

I'd rather date someone I met online. I love blind dates (I'm a gambler and a risk-taker) but I like to have a good sense of someone before an actual date. :)

Mostly because I'd hate for the date to completely suck because we are incompatible and I wouldn't want to leave early or kick her out. :x

Well, if i would be forced to do, then "Date someone online". But let it be a mixture then. I will explain:
If i like the girl, i would still prefer to meet her "blind", means, no pictures in advance. Not a single one.
(I've experienced this in person, so i surely know what i'm talking about)
Falling in love with someone when you don't know how he/she looks is truly honest.
I'm afraid, too many people fall in love for the looks of someone and not really for their character.
Or the character would be lesser important to them when they already almost start to drool about the looks, and the looks only.
Just watch any random men, most throw away their brains when it comes to a super beautiful woman (well, i do NOT.
Call me stupid/weird if you want - but the opposite is the case.
It totally touches my heart beyond any imagination if the girl is far from what is considered "perfect" by superficial (shallow-brained??) men/MEDIA(!!!) - so, nothing could ever go wrong when i meet the girl blindly and she turns out to be the opposite of "Miss Universe"...
You see, if i fall in love with the girl, and she falls in love with me too, i would always be a winner (both, i would dare to say)

I don't like either but if I had to choose, I probably would prefer a blind date. I just don't like the idea of actively searching for someone to get in a relationship with just for the sake of not being alone. I much prefer for it to occur organically with the people you meet circumstantially, though it's getting harder to do it that way nowadays with everyone being so isolated. Thanks for the GA!
