what makes you pick up bundle games? do you not want them enough to buy them or is it that you simply can't afford it?

Some games you just know are going to be bundled from the start, others can catch you by surprise like "Graveyard Keeper" which I was planning to buy anyway but it showed up in a recent Humble Bundle, so I bought that instead. I used to buy games I wanted when they came out but I found that a lot of them ended up getting bundled or put on deep sales before I even got a chance to play them, which sucks.
I do still buy some games outside of bundles if I'm going to play them immediately but those are rare. Most can at least wait for a sale.

When you know that just about every game will eventually be bundled or deeply discounted, it makes no sense to buy at their inflated initial price. A good game will give you the same degree of enjjoyment regardless of whether you play it at release or much cheaper a year or two later, especially when you play primarily single-player games. Add to that the fact that most players who buy exclusively bundled or heavily discounted games will still end up with a massive backlog. A decade ago, the bottleneck for a gamer on a budget was the number of games owned... now, it's about not having the time to play even half of the games you own!
