Another more "modern" game, but I wanted to put at least one Telltale adventure in the list, and this is probably the one I enjoyed the most (so far). And that really surprised me, since I'm not a fan of the show. (I've never read the comics.) I watched the first episode and was bored. A friend recommended the show to me a long while after that, so I sat through the existing two seasons waiting for it to get better. For my personal tastes, it didn't.

But The Walking Dead Telltale game... it hooked me from the start, and continued to impress. Telltale's illusion-of-choice game mechanics are probably most impactful in this first game, and that made it a truly engaging and enjoyable experience. Some of the twitchier mechanics were unexpected and not wonderful, but they fit well in a story where there are zombies (or whatever the Walking Dead universe calls them, I can't remember -- they're zombies).

I wish more of the choices would matter in Telltale's games. But it's nice that they found success in this game format after trying something similar but more akin to the classic adventures when they released their Sam & Max games (relatively enjoyable, but they did tend to just plod along slowly). And one of these days I'll also play the old Sam & Max games...

Thanks, It was free a while back, but I missed it. :(
