Description

This is Kottbusser Tor Station.
You can transfer to U8.

This is the U1 line toward Warschauer Str.. The Next Station is Görlitzer Bahnhof heading toward Warschauer Str. Station.
This is the U1 line toward Uhlandstr.. The Next Station is Prinzenstr. heading toward Uhlandstr. Station.

There are so many different places to go from here. Aside from transferring to the U8, which has its own interesting destinations, there are several different cafe's with all kinds of food right in this square. Further there is a Kaiser's here, which is funny to compare pricing with the mini-farmer's market outside (Farmer's market always wins in Berlin.) This area is sometimes referred to as Kreuzkölln, as it is a mix of both Kreuzberg and Neukölln. If you head north and go either east or west, there are a ton of different shops and different types of restaurants in every single direction. Festivals are held in this area and whole areas of blocks are cordoned off for pedestrian traffic only.

There is also the Kreuzberg Museum that was very interesting and had free entry.

Heading East from here, you would eventually find the gorgeous Omar Mosque that we got a tour of from our German Instructor that first summer. At that point, you're nearly right there at Görlitzer Bahnhof.

Aside from more restaurants and a few scattered clubs, this area is filled with life at all hours of the day or night. If you went south on Kottbusser Str. you'd eventually come to a bridge, Kottbusser Brücke and further to Maybachufer just on the other side.
