I have no idea if I have a favorite.
The first thing I thought about is The Endless Forest, but it's "multiplayer online game and social screensaver" so....
I'll stay with it.

I haven't really played many open world exploration games.
So probably Proteus... maybe...
I'd say Dream but it's not really open world.

Wishlisted since it came out. I don't buy Early Access as a rule, but when it is released properly and if it has controller support, I want it so badly.

I have an old Logitech gamepad, but I'd prefer to use my Xbox 360 one. I think xpadder covers that? I could try with 'Stranded Deep'. I won that game and want to play it, but yep. Fingers can't work well together. XD

There is a basic controller support integrated in Stranded Deep.
I don't know for logitech and xpadder. But if it doesn't work you can use joytokey (that works with all).
For joytokey and 360 controller, i've seen this...
button 1 on joytokey = A on 360 controller 2 on logitech
button 2 = B on 360 controller 3 on logitech
button 3 = X on 360 controller 1 on logitech
button 4 = Y on 360 controller 4 on logitech
button 5 = L1
button 6 = R1
button 7 = select
button 8 = start
button 9 = press left stick
button 10 = press right stick
stick 1 = right stick
stick = left stick
pov = directional crosspad
axis5(<0) = right trigger R2
axis5(>0) = left trigger L2

Journey isn't really open world since it has linear progression but the levels are open world-ish. Otherwise Oblivion might be my favorite one.

Does Minecraft count? Reason for this choice is pretty much because of the crafting/building combo.
Other than that, most RPGs probably; somewhat related, looking forward to Witcher 3. :')
