So I've been asked about the fact that China is currently stealing many US inventions and trade secrets. A critic mentioned that, before the US became an industrialized nation, it also stole and ignored patents held in Europe. Is this true? Are there any books/articles out there which proves or disproves this?
A guy called Samuel Slater stole industry from England and took it to America, but besides that I don't know.
