keep in touch with regular calls. Video calls would be better and well, depending on what type of a relationship we're talking about, sexting would definitely boost up the spirits for the both of you. Thx for the giveaway!

  • Discord voice chat
  • Discord video chat
  • streaming desktop via Steamlink or similar to watch videos, series, movies or just surf together like sitting on the same couch
  • Steam Remote Play Together any couch coop game

The last three need a decent internet connection and the last two a half-decent PC though.

The Steamlink app is available for Android devices like TVs and tablets as well as for Mac and you can hook up an XBox Controller to most Android TVs via USB or even Bluetooth. Stable internet connections (no WiFi) with at least 10-20Mbit up on the streaming PC and 10-20Mbit down on the receiving end should suffice.

Don't limit yourself to just one person to be close with. And I don't mean like, intimate (tho that is an option if you and your partner are okay with it I guess). But I mean like, hanging out and spending time with someone, maybe hugging and such. Having close friends like that can alleviate the lack of your partner's presence.

Long-distance relationships can be tough, especially when you're oceans apart. Loneliness is a real challenge, but there are ways to make the distance feel a little less overwhelming.

  1. Stay Connected Creatively – Texting is great, but mix it up! Video calls, voice messages, shared playlists, and even gaming together can help bridge the gap in a way that feels more personal.

  2. Have Shared Activities – Watch a movie at the same time, cook the same recipe, or read the same book. Feeling like you’re experiencing something together—even from afar—keeps the bond strong.

  3. Plan Visits (if possible) – Having a trip to look forward to can make the wait more manageable. Even if travel isn’t an option right now, planning imaginary adventures or future goals together can help.

  4. Build a Support System – Stay close to friends and family. Loneliness doesn’t just stem from missing one person—it helps to have a solid social circle to lean on.

  5. Focus on Your Own Life Too – While you miss them, don’t forget to nurture yourself! Pick up a new hobby, work on personal goals, or engage in activities that bring you joy.

  6. Write Letters or Journal – Sometimes, putting your feelings into words helps. Whether you write to them or just jot things down for yourself, it’s a great way to process emotions.

Missing someone means you care deeply, and that’s beautiful. Distance doesn’t diminish connection, it just challenges you to find new ways to nurture it.

Try to do group activities. Some activity that you like or that you want to learn.

I highly recommend scheduling video calls on a weekly basis at the very least as NOTHING beats personal touch, but this served my partner and I as the best alternative. Not ideal obviously, but just try to make the best of your available options. Also, planning a trip to visit each other makes the days away go by A LOT faster and even makes seeing the person again in person feel SOOO much better. Make sure that both of you are still living your lives apart and not strictly dependent on the other, i.e. make oher friends in person and enjoy yourself.

My personal experience, others' mileage may vary

Thanks for the game. I will install and try to make some super dungeons.

Long distance relationships are tough. These days you can video chat for free so maybe that helps???
Hopefully this is someone you originally met in RL and not one of those super common online dating scams. Be safe!!!
