         { Would you kindly tell a sad story about your game ? }

(ツ)_/¯

When i was younger (13/14) Guild Wars was my life, we had a medium Guild of arround 40 players and used to do PvP matches, just explore and level together, talking on TS2 all night, gossiping, telling each other our for that time so small problems and helping out. I used to play a lot, so much that i got addicted. One day i noticed myself that i needed to make a cut and luckly my parents had already planned to send me to my aunt to New Zealand for a few month as exchange student. When i came back i kind of had forgotten about gaming, not sure how. Now, nearly a decade later i found my old install CDs and log-ins and thought why not. I remebered while loading the old times and the fun, but then my avatar spawned at the guild hall with the cape on the back but everything empty. When i opened the guild list, my name was the only one left. I just sat there for a good 5 min, just staring and tears fallling. Sometimes i think back and wonder how the others are doing and just hope they are fine.

You know... someone said to me that walking alone is not difficult but when you have to walk a mile worth a thousand years with someone then coming back alone is what is difficult.

137 hours into Final Fantasy 7. All I had was the last boss fight. I kept insisting to my mom that my brother and I needed our own memory cards. He saved over my file with Buzz Lightyear.

Pokemon Emerald was my first Pokemon game, and one of my first favorite games. One day, I was at a friend's house, and we were exchanging our Pokemon stories, and for some reason he didn't think I was "playing it right". So I get home, and the next day, I can't find my Pokemon Emerald. So I, being, like, 9, assumed he stole it to "correct" my playstyle. This story does have a happy ending, though, because I ended up finding the cartridge in my couch cushions about a month later.

I was playing CS, and some a-hole shot me.

But I got him, and killed his brother as revenge a little later.

Saddest? Hmm... I suppose it would have to do with Chocobo's Dungeon 2. I've played the heck out of it over the years, doing post-game stuff and starting from scratch because of how fun it is. It's a roguelite with cute characters, but it can be really challenging in the post-game, especially if you're going after some rare materials. Anyways, one day while I was playing the endgame dungeon, when the game suddenly froze. It had never done this before. Luckily I had saved on a floor or two earlier so no biggie.

I got back to that floor again, and the game froze again. This kept happening, and I had to accept that the game was worn out at long last. I have the files still, there's somewhere over 200 hours must have been logged altogether including saved over data. But I can't get the disc to play right.

So long Chocobo. And thanks for all the memories.

Once I was playing GTA V. Doing a heist, if I remember well. But man, I really needed to shit. THE POOP WAS KILLING ME but I couldn't just leave my team and go shit. I stood strong as long as I could, but then... the crap did an ( ( ESCAPE ) ) and suddenly my pants were all covered by fecal Nutella. Worst day ever.
I told my friend afterwards, he laughed so hard. Sheit.

IDK if this is THE saddest gaming moment but my wife at the time wanted my attention while I was playing StarCraft with a friend for our once a week gaming "party". I told her one minute. After a minute or two I went to see what she wanted and she said never mind. Later after my friend had gone home she said that she'd had a miscarriage while I was gaming and wanted me to see it to say good bye. I didn't even know she was pregnant...

Don't be too sad though within a month of this happening I found out that she was cheating on me with a co-worker twice her age and had been for about 3 months and we separated. I figured that she wasn't telling the truth about the miscarriage and just wanted some attention or it wasn't mine so no worries.

When I was a kid (10 or so?), I and my friend played Kirby Super Star together. We were almost at time to beat all the game.
And, you know,
0% 0% 0%
All the saved data was just gone. We were too surprised to say a word.
Everybody had same sad story? or only the original Japanese edition had this? IDK...

Well, I can't play my games anymore because my VGA card is gone. That's quite sad... :(

Back during the start of the pokemon craze I more or less managed to get 151 pokemon (admittedly one of the used carts had mew on it), and I was content and ready to take on the next gen until my little cousin just HAD to play and wound up saving over it.... basically crushing my dreams.

Ultimately just as well with how the series is still going. Even 200 years from now there'll still be pokemon.

When ESO got out of Beta, and they revealed the split US/EU server crap...

In Beta I made my guild (VaKhajDar), and instigated an alliance (The Southern Brotherhood). By the end of the Beta, my guild hovered around the 100 members and the alliance had more than 1000 members...
When Zenimax/Bethesda crawled back on their "one server" promise, I saw everything I built with my friends crumble due to bickering and infighting in the member guilds and between these guilds over what server the Alliance should take... (It went EU)

I used to love that game, but after that, I had to force myself to play, and eventually I dropped the game... The Alliance is dead, but my guild still survives (or so I heard)...
