Description

Hey everyone! I've started a YouTube channel where I am devoted to doing daily uploads of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ runs where I try to get a big Eden streak! In the future, I hope to add content like Rocket League gameplay, Let's Plays, and showcases of Indie Games.

If you're a fan of the Binding of Isaac, or me in general, please check out my latest video! Any feedback about the content is invaluable to me at this point!

Heyo, Bobo... I'll try to swing by and have a look-see, today. Thanks for the wish list giveaway. )

Nicely paced and knowledgeable game-play in that video. Certainly way more entertaining to watch than many "watch me play after I didn't even spend a second on checking key-bindings"-videos, even tho myself not much interested in that genre.

Just watched your Rocket League unboxing and half of the first BoI episode (I'm planning to watch the rest later) and I must say, your commentary is really good for someone that just started. Are you planning to stick with Isaac for now or do you have some other games in mind?

I hope to only get better with the commentary, it's definitely the area of my videos that needs the most improvement.

Daily Isaac right now, some Rocket League crate openings next week. I still have a 50 hour a week job, so finding time to create content is difficult, BUT, I definitely plan to grow the channel. My plan is to record Let's Plays of indie games, then edit together a short review/montage/summary video for the game, upload that, and then upload my Let's Play for it in pieces over the following days.

But I don't know when I'll have time to start doing that.

I just watched the latest Binding of Isaac video. I really enjoyed your commentary. Especially the parts where you are offering tips and explanations for items. I should really give Rebirth a try. I only played a little bit of the original and never really learned about all the items and meta strategy. It's neat to watch someone play it that really understands what they're doing. Good luck with your YouTube channel and thanks for the nice giveaway Bobo! :)

Thank you! I'm trying to focus more on explaining aspects of the game and going through my decision making process as I play through runs.

Hey man, do you also stream BoI? I often watch Cobalt play BoI, but I wouldn't mind swinging by your stream as well :)

Not yet... BUT I want to. As stated above, I have a full time+ job. If I start gaining traction with YouTube to the point I actually start making money, I will go to part time so I can create more content AND start a regular streaming schedule :)

Ah okay :) To be honest, I'm not really fan of youtube (except for when I want some music that's not on Spotify or some very detailed guide I need), but I watch Twitch fairly often, because it's nice to just tune in to a stream when I'm eating or I have some spare time. There's no obligation to finish anything so I can join and quit at any time, while in youtube I have to sit till the end of a video and need to fully focus on it.

So yeah, for your types of video (I assume it's Eden streaking) I completely prefer Twitch because of the chat interaction when something fun happens, the ability to do something else and still listen to it and also because I just like listening to Cobalt. You should check out his stream on Twitch to see what I mean, he's pretty hilarious but at the same time a really cool, down-to-earth guy.

I've watched quite a few of Cobalt's streams! It's something I'd love to be doing, I just can't dedicate the time to a streaming schedule yet :(

Well, I think it's too early for you to set up a schedule yet. Most of those guys are in the business for years and started it as something they've been only doing in the evenings sometimes. I was thinking about trying streaming myself, but my connection is not good enough to support it and I cannot change it (landlord's chosen it years ago and she won't budge) :(

You can just try to stream from time to time and see how it turns out. It's not an easy thing to do though, as a good streamer has to maintain a close connection with the audience (reading chat and responding/answering questions) while still being able to concentrate enough to play well.

You could also try to get into some streamed BoI tournaments. Cobalt used to host Balls of Steel, which I had a blast watching even though it usually ran from midnight to like 4am of my local time :P

I know I could stream in my free time, but I think it would be detrimental to my current plan.

I'm really on a mission to make being a content creator my full time job. Right now, I think my free time is better utilized focusing on growing my YouTube channel to the point where I can actually start monetizing and I have a following. Once I have a small amount of income coming in, I will go part time and my job so I can dedicate more time to content creation, and once I can leave my job entirely, I can setup a regular streaming schedule and get some of my established following to start viewing me there as well.

Success on Twitch, from what I've read, is highly dependent on having a consistent schedule and being able to stream 4+ hours at a time. My current job does not allow for that, my schedule is different every week. I can be scheduled any day of the week, including weekends, with shifts like 5am-2pm, 11am-8pm, or 2pm-11pm. It's just not possible. I think it'd just be wasted time until I can actually devote more to it.

BUT, feel free to go ahead and follow me, and when I do start streaming, you'll see it :)
