depends on the genre i generally agree as i have found amazing short indies myself, that really stick to mind for many years despite their short length. However when it comes to platforms in particular, i don't say i would want a 20-30-40 hour game, but 10-12 or so would be a nice balance still imo.
Way too many games overstay their welcome by adding useless filler content. Here, take this quest and kill those giant rats because I need their tails but this time in neon-purple color instead of blue you gave me last time. And hurry up because I need to finish my super cool rainbow jacket for reasons.
Short and sweet is better than dragged on. Or perhaps I have turned more bitter and cranky as I don't have that much time/motivation to play anymore? :p

honestly, i would say that the length adds to it. somegames are too scared to leave a shorter but heavier impression.
