A friend (around your age, I should add) went as William "D-Fens" Foster at a Halloween party a few years ago. That worked unexpectedly well! That's a character most people tend to remember, even if it's been years since they saw the film. Maybe something to try?
Also: When I was in Los Angeles some time ago I lived close to the pier where they filmed some of the last scenes of the film. Felt nice to take a run there in the mornings and relive some film history :)

I don't know how widespread Halloween is in Germany, but here in Sweden it has really caught on the last 10 or so years, and now you can expect almost anything around those days, people in crazy outfits isn't that unusual.

It's a phrase popularly used among, let's say, younger people and yes, it means dass du dir etwas gönnen sollst (imperative)
Examples would be obvious ones like "Oh, I really want these shoes!" - "Gönn dir!" or in a sense that somebody has been treating themselves: "I bought these expensive shoes yesterday!" - "Gönn dir!"
It can have a sarcastic undertone in the second example, implying you have done something snobby, maybe over your usual expenses.
And have fun in Berlin! I never understood why people love that city so much, but I think it's one of the better cities anyway considering what it offers.

Knowing which to use of sollen/wollen/werden is also hard. I'll probably get the hang of it if I start hearing more German every day. I've been thinking of listening to German audio books while working, that might help a lot.
Thanks, I will! It's hard to describe what I like so much. I always have a good time when I'm there. Everything just suits me better than in Sweden. People seem more relaxed, and there's much more to do, Swedish cities are much more expensive and have less stuff happening compared to Berlin. I can't say that Berlin is the only city in Germany for me since I've only visited Berlin, Freiburg and Leipzig (and out of them Berlin was the one I liked best). Might be more places I would like. I was close to going to Düsseldorf once, but that didn't happen.

Düsseldorf is a cool city. I'm living in that area, few kilometers away.
Although Düsseldorf is a really, really snobby place. I mean like... disgustingly snobby. Sure, there's also this artsy trash scene of graphic designers and what not, but they're coming from rich families themselves, so it's nothing genuine if you ask me.
Cologne is also decent and more down to earth. Both Düsseldorf and Cologne, being somewhat rivals (you'll hear people from Cologne complain about people from Düsseldorf and vice versa), have almost the same things to offer in every aspect. The people living there make the difference.
So you should really check both out some time! Don't know what you are looking for in a city, but I think both can offer a little from everything.
I don't know how good your German already is but what about movies in German? Helps a lot more to see gestures, mimics and the situations language is used in.

The good thing with an audiobook would be that you can do other stuff at the same time, which is harder if you're watching a film :) I don't watch too many films, but not long ago I saw two ~15 year old German films: Lola Rennt and Auf Herz und Nieren. I liked both. I can understand quite much, but I need to get more used to the language, so I start understanding it directly instead of having to translate everything in my head (I can think in English, but not in German). Probably comes easier if I get used to it.

Okay, that's true, didn't think about it. And if you can believe some movies from the 80s and 90s you should speak perfect German when you listen to it while you're sleeping. :D
I personally don't like German movies that much, there's something about them that just bothers me. I'd have to think really hard to think of a German flick I actually liked.
But since most movies get dubbed pretty well, sometimes at least, you could watch good foreign movies instead. Lately movies are getting voiced terribly tho so I'd rather watch most of 'em in English.

I finally got a new phone bye vita! and and I'm also home so I can take my hair out again! It's gotten pretty long while braided. I've got a new hairstyle which didn't turn out how I wanted to, but it's alright. Along with posting updated and better quality photos for the stalkers of this thread, I'm also gonna ask a question.
You've never seen yourself with your own eyes, so do you know what you look like? I know that I don't. When I look at myself through the mirror I look very feminine, but when I look at photos of myself I look very masculine. Even when I look at my phone's screen when it's taking a photo it looks different. I'd bet what I look like through my eyes would be different than how I look through all three of those.

shrug I don't have anything to hide...if someone wants a piece of me badly enough to do something that I would care about based on a photo of me, they would find a way without the photo, and I don't think such a person exists. In the grand scheme of things in the world, I'm nobody. I don't publicly post my kids' photos, and I don't hand out email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc., but otherwise I really don't get the concern. We live in a connected world, and anonymity is really something we tell ourselves we have so we're not so self-conscious - if someone wanted your information badly enough they would get it, but who's going to spend the time it would take on the likes of me? As long as you don't make it so easy that you become a target of a broad attack, and you're not a particularly juicy target for some reason, I think you're pretty safe.
