After spending 20 mins every day washing and conditioning 3-1/2 feet of hair (past my waist), and another 20 mins brushing and braiding it for work, I just decided to get rid of it one day. My first "hair cut" in almost 20 years.
It amazes me how differently people treat me since I cut it all off. -_-

The beard & sunglasses come and go, and now I have a sleeve & a half of tats. I think I still had my nose piercing and earrings in the first pic as well. I'm 6'-4" and work as a carpenter, I'm not a small guy at all, so the clean-cut look and shorter hair without all the piercings makes me much less scary to people.
I hated giving in to judgmental people and accepted standards ... but it had to be done. People rarely get to know someone before judging them based on appearance. :(

At my age (I'm much older than I look), and seeing as I'm dealing with contractors and clients, it's just easier to cut the hair, remove the piercings, and cover the ink since my livelihood could depend on it. I don't personally believe personal appearances should be so important, but unfortunately they are to many people.

Haha, for me it's the other way around. If I wait for a few days before I shave I then get disappointed looks and comments like : "why did you have to shave? - It was just starting to look good".
