Objective analysis. I've lived as myself for long enough to realize where I stand on that ladder compared to other people. Sure I have my moments, like that Halloween night I dressed up as a catwoman and got people of both genders groping/staring me, but other than that I usually get far less positive attention than others around me. I can make it even with negative attention though, but just online. No one dares to mess with me in real. I'm fucking jacked. well, not really, that last part.

Objectively, most people (including myself) are terrible at judging their own appearance, they are either too critical of themselves or too positive (more rarely). Also your character comes into play, if you're shy or introverted (I don't know whether you are or not), you'll be less likely to be approached by men. Also there's this thing were men are intimidated by beautiful women. What I'm trying to say is there is more than one factor that comes into play. Geography does play a role though, and there are countries with a lot of beautiful women. All I can say is you look very beautiful to me and I hope you believe me because I'm being earnest. Haha, that would make you even more interesting.

I don't believe in your guess... I've felt uglier than everyone else since childhood, I remember I was 7, looking at my first class photo, thinking "oh gosh, why can't I just look normal like them". Well I can't judge how you looked in your past or what you will look like in the future, I can only judge what I see now, from your pictures. Try as I might I can't see you as ugly in them. I'm not going to attempt to assume to know what you looked as like a child, but I doubt you were the only ugly kid (if indeed you were ugly). I don't think you can say everyone is beautiful (from a purely aesthetic point of view), so I agree that's a pretty bullshit statement. It seems kind of an unusual thing for a 7 year old to think (in my opinion), unless you were very ugly (which doesn't seem likely judging from what you look like now). It wasn't that bad, worst offender was a girl, she just wanted to hug me and grab my waist (I was wearing a corset so it was kind of cool and tiny and she was so amazed). Well, for the first time in my life I've convinced myself to focus on myself. This week, my boyfriend broke up with me, and it's something I needed. Ever since the day he ended it, I really just stopped at just looked at myself. I'm trying to be happy. I'm trying to get back in touch with people and friends I have stopped talking to. I'm trying to be somebody different. I just started a new job this week. I'm trying to look at the positive things in life instead of always being so pessimistic. I think I'm going to be single fr a while so I can just try to figure out what to do with myself. So far, it's good. I've been the happiest I've been in years these past few days. I'm not sure why, but it just kinda 'sprung'. And, in my opinion, the picture posted above, I think it makes me look very lively. I'm not used to looking lively. But, I just want to take time for myself and enjoy myself. I'm going to be 21 this year. My mom's going to take me to clubs and just get a different sense of surrounding. I want to try new things. I WANT to be more outgoing. I don't like feeling like I'm trapped inside of my own body, inside of my own room. I want to be so much more than I am. And I need to find it. So far, it's a good start. I'm feeling more colorful. I'm trying to find nicer clothes (I like to wear black. but if I mix it with color, like I did with my scarf in the above picture, it looks much better. I'm just trying to change myself for the better. And I NEEDED this. The past few months I was slipping back into depression. But it's just suddenly stopped. And I hope it stays like this. because I really don't want to keep wasting my life away.

Yeah, it happens quite often (in relation to how rarely I go outside). And I'm not very good at talking with strangers, so it usually looks like me just standing there occasionally giving very short answers politely waiting till they lose interest in talking to me, so I can continue walking whereever I was going. @__@

I would probably not be able to get away with saying that I'm 2m or 180, but I don't feel like messing with the other person at the counter when I'm getting a new ID, they might take an even worse picture than last time
I'm just so used to people not striking up random conversations that when someone does, I feel really awkward and the conversation tend to go nowhere. In don't think I've ever had anyone strike up random conversation with me when I've not been sitting down. We just don't do that over here. Asking for directions is one thing, but just trying to talk to someone, that's a big no-no.

People have only started talking to me on a small handful of occasions when I've been reading. When i was in uni I sometimes had books with names such as "Quantitative chemical analysis" that would make people inquire about what I was reading, but with regular books most people show respect. On some occasions people have tried to indirectly start a conversation by commenting on what I'm reading to a friend in a way that would make me answer them, but that's relatively rare.
And when it comes to people flirting or hitting on you, well, that's one of the main reasons why I don't like going by subway at around 3-4am, right after all the bars have closed. There's so many drunk people who did not get lucky who are looking for someone. Luckily it does not happen very often, but the times someone has tried to make a move on the subway, it's just super awkward, and there's really no good way of getting out of it either, unless you fancy waiting another 30min for the next train

As for people hitting on me, the situations I was thinking of, usually happen in the middle of day, when I'm walking somewhere. But drunk people are yet another tier of awkward conversations here. At least usually they are funny.
I don't use buses, trams and trains when I it's not absoluetly necessary, because of what MSKOTOR mentioned - it's very common for people to strike conversation there and as you said about your experiences "there's really no good way of getting out of it" :)

I don't really have any choice when it comes to trains. I live nearly 20km outside of Stockholm, and cars are expensive, so I need to go by train.
Drunk people at least don't freak out when they realize that they don't really have any followup for the conversation, but will just keep blabbering, without a care in the world. Sober people will generally get awkward and not know how to continue the conversation when you're not giving them enough threads to work with.

You've got no idea how often it is in busses / bus stops and so on. One time one grandpa started to talk to me about his grandchildren, holidays and so on. On some other occassion someone (I don't remember gender) was talking to me about their wife / husband, that they have alzheimer, that they start to forgot about stuff and so on. That wasn't really nice experience. And I had discussion with total stranger about architecture in my city.
Seeing strangers in the bus, starting to talk to someone else is common. Most common subject is "what are you reading there?" "what are you listening to?" or just complain that bus driver is a bad driver, that weather is terrible and so on xD

Well I can't tell for sure, but we have here this "family should stick together" "family should be big" "there should be children after the wedding" things, so my grandparents generation can feel like it's right thing to do, by talking like that to other. And also when younger people move out - either aboard or to different city - they are left "alone", so maybe they need company? If in Croatia they also have this "traditional, good, big, always together" family model it can be the reason behinf it.

I can't speak for everyone as leonidas did, but for me, there seems to be much higher chances that I find girls around 160-165 cm interesting/attractive. Doesn't mean that I don't like girls that are shorter or longer than that, but 160-165 are overrepresented :D I'm 176 cm, if that matters.

If I would be a 165 cm guy, maybe it wouldn't be that strange that I preferred someone around my own height or slightly shorter? ...the relative height thing was interesting though. Just checked wikipedia. Average male to female height ratio seems to be 1.07-1.08 for most places around the world.
