Well, if I'm right it's not that hard ;) The big square is made out of 9 smaller squares.
In the first one you have 6 blue small squares and 3 are white colored. If you multiply 6 and 3 you get 18.
In the second big square you have 4 of the smaller blue squares and 5 are white colored. 4 x 5 = 20
In the last one you have 2 blue squares and 7 white colored. 2 x 7 = 14
