In 2007 a kestrel was nesting behind a window at my father's work. I recently recovered some old photos and want to share them with you - these proud, noble creatures look really not-noble and not-proud when they're young.

Feel free to share any wild bird photos you've taken.

Anyway, good threads got gibs! And since I want to ape goodness, I'm gonna have gibs too. With a catch tho, so not that good:

*These are from the recent Humble and obtained from US IP, so I'm not sure about them working elsewhere. I know STRIDER and BIONIC COMMANDO worked for me in Czech Republic. If you're in Germany or Japan then I'm sorry but I think these won't work for you.

I wanted to make these as a public GA, but SG doesn't have a US region and I sadly don't trust the public about reading descriptions and would like to spare myself any reroll trouble so I'm sharing it with you cool Forum people.

I know, looking back, I should've generated Humble gift links, but I just didn't expect the evil of region locks to strike.
I originally planned for these to be part of Xmas Sloth Giveaways, but I prefer to get rid of anything region locked ASAP.*

UNITED STATES ONLY
unless you're sure it will work for you. Thank you for understanding :-)

z?kRw - STRIDER. 9
i0ol? - Bionic Commando: Rearmed. 8
u?ofK - Lost Planet 3. 7
hy?M7 - Resident Evil Revelations 2: Episode One. 6

These all end in 17 hours.
Good luck, may this bring me a lot of karma so that I don't get killed by your drones as a collateral damage :-)

Kestrels are awesome :D

Also on an unrelated sidenote you can avoid games from Humble getting region locked (for the few Bundles that have it) by generating gift links instead of unveiling the keys yourself ?
If yes that's very handy information.

As far as I understand that's how it works - it should then give you the key for the region of the recipient.

Nice. I think I'll still use all the games from the Capcom Bundle myself just to be safe but the more you know :D

oh that kind of makes sense, I actually turned mine into keys just to make it easier, but I don't think I have seen any US games that are region locked.

Yeah I'm just err-ing on the side of caution here. I don't think any of these are US only, but I don't really want to go through the effort of digging through steamdb.

I know Inversion does have a NA-only version. So that's almost US, and Canada is almost US as well :-P

Grouse (from my trip to Chapleau) & Eastern Screech Owl (from my home during the winter time, sadly the owl end up passing away after I took the photos).

Owls are one of my favorite birds. They really do look wise.

so how can you tell if the games are region locked? I am in the US and never see any region restrictions for US only and I noticed SG didn't have that option either when creating giveaways

It says so in the Capcom Bundle thread.

All I saw that was someone said it was region locked for ukraine and germany, I suppose from them grabbing the game in that region.

What I want to know is that since I have never seen a US region locked game(and there is no US region option in SG), when I grab the key version in the US, wouldn't that be open to everybody?

I assume it would. I guess for Germany the reasoning behind the region lock is that Germany gets (probably for legal reasons) the low-violence Japanese version although Germany would normally be ROW but that's a lot of assumptions so don't quote me on that.
Sorry my answer isn't more helpful.

A Kestrel for a Knave is awesome, you should read it. And befriend a Kestrel and have adventures and stuff.

Well it would mean a steady supply of dead rodents.
My cats are slacking on that front, only one of them brings me stuff anymore.

Are these some kind of a swan? I suck at identifying these swans and geese.
I heard swans can be nasty so I'd be scared that I might look like someone with bread in my pocket in that situation:-)

Yeah, mute swans. They are very territorial and you will usually only see one pair in one area - they can even be dangerous to people. This was taken at a lagoon behind Chesil Beach in Dorset, England. It is such a good feeding ground that they put aside their differences for a while and it is the only place I know where you would see something like that.
