Lol, yeah. MachoCrepes for True Men(tm). Funny thing is, they don't taste like beer at all. Beer adds some flavour, but much more changes the texture.

Yeah, beer-battered stuff can be pretty interesting! Definitely doesn't taste of beer, and all the alcohol is cooked out, for the most part when it reaches cooking temperatures, kind of like a rum cake, or bourbon marinades with chicken... something along those lines. A rum cake still has a rummy kind of flavor though, to me. I guess there are the wine vinegars as well. Even "pure" vanilla extract here has like 35% alcohol, possibly to keep the vanilla from spoilage, or maybe to suspend the particles evenly and properly, in the mix, but I am just speculating on that point and have no idea to the truth of its purpose. I stopped drinking a long while back, but when it is used in cooking, it can be pretty interesting sometimes. I've never had it in a crepe before though... Maybe something to try one day, since I really have to jazz up a crepe to really enjoy it. They're not served too often around here, unfortunately, but I have made a few on my own here and there.... :D
