WOOHOO! No longer shall my video game collection wallow in the dust should I pass on... I now have an heir to make use of them!

In a sleep deprived bit of insanity it struck me that a train of RPGs would be a fitting way to share the joy!
Unfortunately my low steam level limited the number of carts... And it will be a two parter...

Part one starts tomorrow!
Part two starts when part one ends! (and has the better games I think)

Link will be posted shortly!

Apparently I can't edit the initial post, I didn't realize that!
And I've only played a handful of the games, so if they suck, don't blame me! ;)

Part one! Featuring games from the indiegala EQ bundle.

Somehow this game was the first thing that came to my mind when I read this thread title as well! Those Sierra classics are so deeply rooted in my subconscious.

...which is probably a little concerning since that means there has to be a little Larry Laffer in me too...

Likewise. Seirra really was such a massive name in gaming back in the day.
A lot of classics really stick in mind- often for regrettable reasons, like 80s/90s humor, or for personal reasons, like being impressed with the (then) innovative approach a game took. But others (such as several of the Sierra games) had some real charm to drive their nostalgia- the classic FMV mystery games were especially memorable, with their push for open world mystery solving, strong story emphasis, and film-like interactions.
Even now, there are few games (and most pretty dubious) that really try offering that style of immersion. Of course, the way CGI is coming, we'll at least get the realism bit down soon enough, again.. :P

Yeah, Sierra game designers had a really great knack for writing and in-world game atmosphere. I was kind of partial to the text parser they used with their older adventure games -- although it had its obvious limitations and frustrations, I feel that open input like that allows for a more intimate connection between the player and the game -- and can allow the player to really infuse ones own personality into it.

It's my hope that games in the future explore a more open dialogue input design at some point, as opposed to the current standard of pre-written multiple choice selection. There are certainly technical and game design obstacles to overcome in doing so in any kind of frustration-free, realistic conversational fashion, but it would bring gaming to a whole new level of potential if someone figures out a way to do it.

Circa age 2 is the best for letting them play with you some ultra-violent games without them remembering it later (except subliminally, when they decide to murder you in your sleep).

Brilliant!
That's actually a better choice as Lovecraft wrote short stories as opposed to King who writes novels.
