Slender? really? I'm sorry but that game is totally bullshit, tried to play it and couldn't believe how awful it was, don't understand how people can play it, and the thought of it being someones favorite just sickens me, I'm sorry i mean no disrespect, i just really hate slender.

Hm, haven't played many. Does Saya no Uta count? Not a Steam game or a "game" by most standards, but it's my personal favorite.

Silent Hill 2 and Cry of Fear (HL1 mod). Both have amazing atmosphere and great story.

Don't know if penumbra games count as horror but I quite enjoyed them.

I like Resident Evil 1-4 quite much. I don't know if most of you would call it a horror game, but I think Devil May Cry (the first one) is really creepy at some points. I think DMC is like a more action-packed version of Resident Evil, with demons instead of zombies. :3

I know, that is why I think DMC is so much like Resident Evil. I must admit I like the action and gameplay better in DMC 3 and 4, but the atmosphere in DMC is just perfect. It has dark corridors and that unnerving feeling there's something really evil lurking in the darkness, ready to jump at you. And I love it to death :3

I'm going to put some originality into this thread by saying that the absolute scariest, most frightening, sometimes nearly heart attack inducing moments I've ever lived through in a game belongs to the first two Thief games. It's not horror, it's Splinter Cell without the suck and with older graphics, set in a steampunk world that is also full of paranormal shit.
Just make it to the Bonehoard level and the atmosphere will crush you good. Or the Haunted Cathedral with its ghosts (creepiest ghosts in a game ever... I tried to blackjack one just for kicks, and it carried on like nothing happened; not sure how, but it was creepier than it sounds). Bumping into one of those after some sneaking around hiding from something else will make you let out a girly scream.

Hey everyone, Since this is a great community of gamers, i wanted to ask you for your favorite horror game. Mine is the both Dead Space games, and i'm eagerly waiting for the third one!
I'm not asking for the most scary one, but for the favorite one, the one you had most fun playing and liked the story, you know where i'm going with this :D
