It's Saturday evening and for the last hour or so there is surprisingly low amount of entries on open no-level no-restrictions 1h GAs. What's up? Have the bots been mass banned/blocked? And there doesn't seem to be abnormally high amount of GAs draining CV reserves.

Frankly, I would prefer that the bots would perma hibernate and I could stay awake and continue with my normal activities. Happy Cakeday, btw :)

I think it's because there have been lots of low level 1-2h giveaways the last few days. Thanks mainly to the Humble Choice bug (and maybe the Dollar Neon Bundle). Bots run out of points, too.

Well, the funny thing is, that Leniu is running now a pretty sizeable batch of 1h no level GAs spaced every few minutes, and his initial GAs have been affected in a strongest way, while now the entry numbers are already going up, exactly when those GAs should likely start depleting the CV reserves. But I'm aware how hard (or precisely - how time consuming) it is to positively identify bots, so I rather expect, that it's some other kind of a random event, like possibly some internet problems for some areas.

My group catched (= perma suspension) in the last weeks a good bunch of multiaccounters and autojoiners (mostly both count for them) with together over 3k wins.
And a known user that is in my group too made a 1k GA and had to reroll 128 winners. A part of them are now perma suspended and a other part, maybe, don't use autojoiners anymore at least for a short time.

But that two things aren't enough to explain that it is so "silent".

I don't heard from some other stuff in relation to that.

i have 3 idea for fix:
1
is put Capatcha check, for enter every 1 sigle Giveaway
this is https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/
before push enter button every 1 single ime must do this

2
make some sort of fake giveaways that only humans can recognize
So then bot can't know and they enter fake gw = lose points for enter real giveaway , because fake giveaway will be same vampire such bots blood\points make bots weak
lose sg point , sort of "Stasi" magic

3 Before to make giveaway ALL,send link to me,so i enter,i win,and bots can't win hahaha beause i win all

p.s. Can i enter group you pls?and where is group you link?

For part 2, sometimes users create GAs for non-steam keys with that statement in description. In that case maybe it would be a hood idea to ban every entrant

Creating such giveaway is against ToS with actual suspension times specified at the bottom of https://www.steamgifts.com/roles/guest (24h for non-Steam game, 3 days for misleading GA, or 5 days for fake GA).
Many users visit SG using various translator software, which may or may not convey enough information to recognize a "trap".
Someone may straightaway decide to win a lucrative game for another platform and mark it as unreceived here. That certainly is a dick move, but not something unimaginable.

  1. Captchas were discussed before and there are problems with that like recaptcha not working worldwide. Also some people stated they would not use the site anymore with captchas (I also hate them)
  2. AFAIK creating fake giveaways is against the rules. Also IMHO it's not a good idea because bots can be easily programmed to search for keywords in the giveaway description while some humans just skip text and click buttons.

ah okay , but about 2 i mean SG websie create fake, not the people,so bots then can't enter real GW bcause lose all poins for enter the fake..

A bunch of times I encountered giveaways that led me to the Steam homepage rather than the game store page. I don't know what this means, but I think it's because you can make GA of games no longer sold or listed on the store. It happened with unknown games or packages of known games. So there is always the chance to skip the description, as a lot of givers advertise their channels/curators/blogs and joining by the title. Since I constantly feed my exclusion list of games, I usually search first for references in Google to decide if getting rid of that title or just join it by curiosity. If the solution is placing traps to ban people, they need to don't produce ambiguous situations.

Humble Choice Bug? What happend there?

For a few glorious hours, Humble Classic subscribers were able to claim the extra keys in older Choice bundles that allowed to claim "only" 10 out of 12 games, which led to a short lived wave of (mostly public level 0) GAs with the extra keys.

that would be appreciated because since im here (4 months) its a purge to win a GA. I understand why people prefer join private groups because its a waste of time to compete here (I win 1 GA per month average on indiegala and here 1 GA each two month in better case)
