Still cant nominate a game for the "Defies Description" award actually - keeps telling me to select a game for it. O____o

Other than that, no games that are likely to get an award aside from maybe Titan Quest (Labour of Love).

Edit: appears to have been fixed now

Go to the game's store page and nominate from there
I did that and it gave me the medal

it looks broken but it actually works, it just doesn't show in the page

Endgame wasn't grindy and we didn't get developers taking it even further from there?

That... didn't happen?

endgame was crap but you can't speed it up by spending $1000 in items.

This can slightly help you. But to choose/find the game that really deserves it, can be hard to find. Especially if there are thousands off games

i had a lot of trouble trying to understand what they wanted. between translation issues and having no guide to pick games (they could have put at least 20 games on each one), i ended up putting titles i liked and seemed to fit the nonsense they ask on each category. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If I road around my town on a giant kitten and stomped on people, would it be cute? Sure it would. Would it still be combat? Most certainly, yes.

As the description reads, "That is why the SASC has chosen to celebrate a game that doesn’t involve combat or conflict." Stardew Valley most certainly involves combat and/or conflict :D

I am surprised that Valve did this for the second time.

  1. Many people will write fake/ not valuable reviews
  2. Many people will just choose random games to nominate.
  3. Many people can also give disawards like. Disaward: The worst Gaming company in human history.

Maybe there are more points

I'll admit, I struggled with a few of these ones so I just kinda picked a game at random cause I did not know what to put there, like Soul of Vitruvious or Defies Description, but I can defend the majority of my picks.

The “Choices Matter” Award - ELEX
The “Haunts My Dreams” Award - Tales of Maj'Eyal
The “Mom’s Spaghetti” Award - Bioshock 2 Remastered

Not really, but that's going to be pretty much what makes it through to the finales. The people who actually put thought into it will end up with a broader spread of titles (with more lesser-known ones), whereas the people who don't really think about it will just draw from whatever last things they played that they enjoyed, which usually means the more recent bigger budget titles or well-known spotlight games.
