Done 100% achievements with gamepad without any controls problems. :-)

Gamepad controls are excellent. I strongly recommend playing with one. This is coming from someone who tends to prefer keyboard on games which recommend gamepads. Don't bother with analogue sticks though - the D-pad works best for this game.

Gamepad is awesome, i'm using xbox controller and its somehow easier to maneuver with the stick. A is for jump, B is for special weapons, Y is for class special skill and X is to attack, RT,LT are used for other skills which i haven't unlocked till now. Really addicting game :3

Even with an Xbox 360 gamepad, the controls in Rogue Legacy aren't very tight. I'm of the opinion that games that demand precise reactions should have precision controls, and RL doesn't have those. Obviously in the minority here, so YMMV.
Still, you're far better off using a gamepad than a keyboard for this game.

I prefer the keyboard personally. It's no less accurate than a controller in this game. Each to their own though.
Any problems you face are likely to be more to do with your preferences as a gamer than the actual implementation of the controls in Rogue Legacy.

Nope. I think the majority of people that have grown up with both PC and consoles in their lives will always lean towards a controller or keyboard/mouse for certain games.

You say "Nope", then reiterate the exact argument I made in my post ¬_¬
The point here is that there is nothing wrong with either implementation, and neither option offers any more accurate control in this game (unlike in situations where analog input is a factor).
People's choice will come down entirely to personal preference, which is what I said and, indeed, what you are describing in your post. Personally I am just as used to controlling games with a keyboard as a controller, and the Rogue Legacy controls work just fine. There is no additional benefit to using a controller unless, as is the case for many gamers who missed out on the dubious pleasures of gaming on 8-bit, peripherally challenged, computers (and, indeed, many who didn't), you are more adept at using one.
Many games are much better played with a controller, but if you are a seasoned keyboard gamer, you will have no problems here.

Just curious as to who uses a gamepad/controller or keyboard to play it.
I just tried it, and I find the controls on the keyboard really messed up and confusing.
I tried setting the controls to how I like it, but some won't change.
For those that use a gamepad/controller, how is it?
