Even the promo-exploiters aware of the retroactive CV loss will still do it, since they can temporarily boost their level [and thereby, enter more giveaways] until staff updates the lists. (This in addition to adding to their Raw CV, helping to mask any leeching tendencies they may have.) While GA creators are allowed to reroll on users who don't have the correct level for entry, most GA creators simply don't check that aspect of their winners.

I agree, especially for quantity-limited games. Still hurts that I missed Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition years ago when it was given away on GreenManGaming or whatever and bots just raped the whole site.

Sorry, was that a serious enquiry? Because, considerations about respectfulness and ethics aside, utilizing free games for levels is a direct circumvention of SG site rules and structure. If it wasn't, free-promo games wouldn't reduce their CV to begin with. It's a pretty intuitive thing. There's just no way to justify the behavior, in the end.
