Diablo III vs Torchlight II

Lol, this is what you get by playing Diablo 3

I was disappointed by the torchlight 2 beta. Multiplayer is kind of muddled and the whole game just didn't feel right. I have no idea about Diablo 3.

Diablo III = Torclight II

Torchlight II is as good if not better, and costs less than half than Diablo 3.

Got T2 pre-ordered, really looking forward to it! You can have a pet ferret. That alone makes it better then Diablo.

I could not endure even one day in Diablo 3. Torchlight 2 > Diablo 3

Diablo 3 by far.

With Torchlight 2, i get LAN and mod support on top of a really fun and replayable co-op experience. Diablo 3 is nothing more than a shell of its former self. It's linear, it offers no end game and the DRM is a big turn off. I am not that surprised, really. Most of the developers of the original two Diablo games left Blizzard long ago to form other studios. Runic Games, the devs of the Torchlight games, have 4 of those original developers.

well i have been playing diablo 3 for a while... after killing diablo first the first time i needed to playing again in NM mode
after finishing that(after slapping my self over and over again) i quit. its fun when u play it once maybe twice but definitely doesnt worth its crazy price

played tl1 and enjoyed a lot - so much with such a "cheap" old game. modes help ALOT

tbh .. i've pre-ordered TL2 ONLY cuz I wanted to pass the time till Guild wars 2 (which is my really goal in life lol , XD ) but seems like it comes out at 28/8 which means i will have like 3/4 weeks to play in TL2 ... i feel stupid for buying it... i hope it will be rly fun cuz i rly would like to play it ( i really dont know how i would do that when GW2 is out =P )

There will always be pointless comparisons to other games.

There is a fan for every game and just because you like one game doesn't mean everyone is going to like the same games as you. This whole debate between which one is better D3 or TL2 is stupid and shows how narrow some peoples minds can be. TL2 will have it's fans just like D3 has it's own fans. It doesn't make one better than the other, it just means people don't always have the same taste in entertainment.

It's like when Uncharted was in development and people said it was a Tomb Raider clone. After the success of Uncharted (and no new Tomb Raider games for some time now), a team decides to make a new Tomb Raider game and guess what!? Everyone is saying it's an Uncharted clone.

It seems like when people enjoy something it becomes all they know and everything after that is compared to all they know because they're so afraid broadening their entertainment with "new". People should look at D3 as D3, and TL2 as TL2 and not rivals but different games for different people.

I have not played d3 so i cannot say anything.

Torchlight II is the best choice.

For now, Diablo 3 beats all, because that's only game actually released.
Personally, I can't be bothered to deal with Diablo 3 due to its...

• €60 price point
• online-only nature (my internet is too unstable to get any real enjoyment out of it)
• locked difficulty setting (I don't like to be forced to play a game through on "easy" (in essence), it's the principle of it)
  I'll get Torchlight II when it's out and when I'll have the time to play it. Until then, meh.

T2 like Terminator 2 it is better than Terminator 3

After playing both i literally gave up on diablo 3. I've not played previous games like it so it was different for me. I was frustrated reaching inferno, more so when it was actually harder to do with friends than when alone. I ended up seeing the real money kill it more and then the ingame currency nerfages destroy the only good points the game had to offer. I tried TL2 and even though the looks are more cartoony style which isn't to everyones liking, i felt it offered alot more. After playing 2 chars on D3 i wanted to rip out my eyeballs doing the same thing 4 times on each difficulty on every char was very very fun-killing. I'm not sure if it's still available but i'd say try the "trial" of D3 before making any decisions on that. There are plenty of people who've got footage of TL2 up and you can compare the 2. I (think) the beta for TL2 is over now or i'd tell you to try that :) Good luck, hope you have fun in any choice you make :D
