Diablo III vs Torchlight II

I've already saved up money to get both. Honestly, I'd try to get my hands on a D3 starter pack if you haven't tried it out until now. It might not be much, but it's some insight into how the game runs. Diablo 3 strayed quite much from the classic hack and slash formula. If you're looking for change, then go pick it up. If you're looking for a more classic approach, get D2 or Torchlight II. But do try to get your hands on a D3 starter before purchasing any of the two. I think it's worth it.

Diablo 3 in all honestly, but Torchlight 2 if you can't run Diablo and that's why it is the much more gamer friendly game. It's also for all ages.

Torchlight II

I liked them both. They are great games. Can't rate them either bad or good.

I played both games and both are really good but blizzard greediness is killing Diablo 3 , so im choosing torchlight with real single player , mods support and normal price.

Haven't played much of T2 yet, but I'm honestly enjoying the shit out of D3. Possibly because I usually play it on hardcore though (permadeath) -- most people that I see hating on it only play softcore. HC with friends has been a lot of fun. When you get walled in by a mob of elite bosses and jump away only to get cornered by another mob of arcane vampiric fast illusionists and your life rapidly starts dropping to half, and you know there's no way to get your character or the gear you're wearing back if you die, it definitely gets your heart racing. Good times.
I enjoyed the first Torchlight too though, so either way, you probably can't miss if you like the genre and ignore the often-idiotic hatemass.

p.s. For Hardcore D3, the RMAH doesn't exist. The regular in-game currency AH does though, and I recommend taking advantage of it.
p.p.s. Don't play D3 for the story -- it's completely weak. Play it for the gameplay (yeah, I know... what a concept).

Nobody can tell you that, mostly because it's opinion based, and also because torchlight 2 is not released yet. If you are asking for opinions, based on what I played on the TL2 beta, I'd go with diablo. I pre-ordered TL2 and I already regret it because I know I won't be playing it. The first one bored me after a few hours of killing monsters that all look the same, in dungeons that change every 5 floors. The beta of the second one wasn't any better. It felt more like "ugh let's get this over with quickly" whereas in diablo 3 I felt the need to explore every part of the map. Also I wouldn't take mods into account when considering which game to buy, because you are relying on random people to create good content for the game, not knowing if it will actually happen or how long it'd take.

Diablo 3 takes no skill its just all gear dependant and thats it!

Well just from looking at them both and from what I've played of D3 in Beta, I'd probably say TL2 looks more fun.

I'd go into a long post about pro's and cons of them, but too lazy/tired to do so atm.
So far from what i've seen/played of TL2 beta it looks promising, very much more promising than the diablo 3 beta did.
Diablo 3 is dull, plain and boring. it has completely destroyed what should be called diablo, a gameseries i enjoyed very much!

tl;dr Torchlight 2 > Diablo 3

Seeing as Torchlight I (although an enjoyable game) was inferior to Diablo 2 despite being released a good nine or so years later... I'm pretty much expecting the same thing to happen again. Having said that, I'll still definitely be picking up Torchlight II.

there is no doubt that Torchlight 2 > Diablo 3... the Torchlight 2 Beta was very good and i'm sure the final release will be way better than Diablo 3 :)

Diablo 3 sucks. I'm really happy to save my money ans buy Torchlight II.

If you're not fan of diablo series , don't buy it... torchlight is cheaper and you'll probably get same amount of fun...

I must say I'm having fun playing, but it's not satisfying at all. The mobs never ever drop decent gear for me and I'm already sick of searching things in the auction house. That really annoys the hell outta me. I wanna find some legendary items!!!! Even if they are crappy goddamnit!

We can speak about this subject after torchlight II will be released, but I think diablo 3 > torchlight II, you can make real money in diablo 3.
